Still adore this band and their debut is one of my favourite records of all time. Sums up the summer of 2004 along with The Killers/Hot Fuss. Such a shame they split too soon. Thanks for posting this.
Brilliant video, really conveys the loneliness and isolation thats expressed in the song and yet retains the inner hope. I love all the changing scenery in the different windows.
Do you know that "The Silent Hours" (2004) was produced by Simon Raymonde (from Cocteau Twins)?
Thus, it wasn't a surprise that the psychedelic indie rock quintet from Liverpool created a SUPERB song like this, the tenth in their debut album, with Steven Bayley in vocals performing very well conceived lyrics...
Totally agree. I was blown away when I first heard this track. Their 2 albums are as good as anything about in recent years. I didn't realise they had split until I read the below. Can't find much about them......
fuckin quality simple vid and the song is catchy cant get it out my head really impressed with this band shame they hav split if anyone knows anymore about em let us no like cheers.
Truly geniuses, i just couldnt keep living without them... im really lucky that ive met that band in my life. Goddamn... this song is near to be the best song ive heard in this century. GENIUS!!!!! I MISS U GUYS :(!
Simply brilliant. I like the vid too! Bayley is indeed a genius. They're a hard band to search on the internet! (Albums: The Open - the Silent Hours & The Open- Statues)
