  • @Chap84 Thx. It's easy to use as a DD. Only takes a few tries to understand the low end dynamics of the cam when you're trying to drive in normal situations. It will "buck" on you if you're not careful, but it's not too sensitive. The cam has TQ throughout the power band .

  • when you custom grind a cam can you tell them the lift and and duration and RPM range? because I'd like more lift but still wanna stay at a lower RPM

    like .512/.520 226/232 1500-5400 rpms

    work on your intake and exaust, and fuel delivery first than think about changing your heart of your motor

  • If you don't mind me asking what are the specs on that cam. I have ported stock heads, comp cam, (232/232 @.050 595/595 114 LSA)kooks 1 7/8 LT's w/ catted mids corsa sport catback, and i put down 437rwhp and 395rwtq.

  • 234/236 .598/.602 112 LSA. My stock heads are untouched. Those are great numbers on that setup you have.

  • Those numbers that you put down are great too. What does your HP and TQ curve look like. If you want to see mine type in Daniel's 05 GTO on the dyno. It shows the dyno graph at the end.

  • Wow, with a 112 LSA I thought it would be more lopey than that. This one sounds perfect. This is as aggressive as I would ever wan't in a cam. It still sounds like a deep V8 at idle unlike those tin popping super lopey cams I don't like...They all sound great though once the rpm's are up. Thanks for the vid :)

  • A cam is a Camshaft. Yes your engine does have it, in fact all do. If I remeber correctly your engine is a 6.0litre v8 Pushrod engine. The Camshft works by opening and closing the intake and exhasut valves. In your engine it is near centre of the motor. It is spun via the Crankshaft, the camshaft is a long straight piece of metal with lobes on it. When spun these lobes push a rod that then opens and closes the valves. there are different camshafts for different applications. I.E Drag racing.

  • Thanks much. From what I understand the LS3 is going to be rated at about 435 HP at the crank. My 435 RWHP is about 515 at the crank, but the GTO is a heavy pig compared to the 'vettes and new Camaro. Once the LS3's started getting modded, it's a whole new story.

  • Yep M6. Just had an LS7 clutch, 160 T-Stat and Pedders Serious Street kit installed a couple of weeks ago. Can't even begin the describe the improvement the Pedders make.

  • Sorry- Pedders is a brand of aftermarket suspension components that specialize in Australian cars. The GTO was very undersprung from the factory. Car does have headers as well.

  • Turbo blue is racing gas here ya know that real sweat smelling stuff low grade gas stinks good gas smell very sweat. So sniff some racing gas is a good thing lol

  • Nice, nice. I'm assuming its an M6? I'm driving an auto so I'd be a tad below you on those numbers. Getting the car re-dyno'd and retuned this weekend hopefully, expecting at least 40 from the longtubes.

  • Thanks, the LT's and LM exhaust wake the deat at WOT with the cam. It's putting down 395 RWHP / 360 RWTQ on a Mustang Dyno, 435 RWHP / 396 RWTQ on a Dynojet.
