I don't remember this at all....its like a bad acid trip with the Brady's ...wtf??? The worse part is I've been watching it....sober????? Who the hell is the fake Jan? Where's Eve Plumb? Did she decide not to snort a line ?
Love that star-shaped 'disco ball' !!! Alice and Rip dancing - so surreal that it is beyond human grasp. Love Mike's blue shoes! Robert Reed: they haven't INVENTED words to describe him in this video.
@landrykkb What's really funny is now knowing who's gay - Bob Reed, Rip Taylor, and watching them play it straight. By now, Ann was a total born again Christian, and Rip wasn't only gay, but super fowl mouthed and over the top in his confetti type antics, whereas she was trained as a sit com performer. She would have nothing to do with him, which put him off, naturally. (Everything is described in Susan Olsen's book about the show.)
I wonder if uncle miltie had a respirator ready off camera? who was responsible for putting this mix of people together? just because some people are good at doing sitcom timing and look telegenic doesn't mean they know how to dance to a beat and sing on key and rhythm.
"which of us in 1977 would not have agreed to appear in our own network variety show??" Well I'll tell you who did NOT agree...Eve Plumb refused to be part of this debacle, Sherwood Schwartz thought this was all ridiculous and had nothing to do with it, and Christopher Knight was extremely reluctant before somehow giving in. As for the rest of us, well, if you can't sing and dance you wouldn't have been offered the chance anyway.
Just to clarify, Eve Plumb did not refuse to appear on the show. She was set to do it, but would only commit to appearing in 7 episodes. The network demanded she sign on for 13, but she was reluctant to commit so much time to the show, so the part was recast. And somewhat ironically, only 9 episodes were filmed.
Eve Plumb said herself on the Brady Bunch E True Hollywood story that she gave them an emphatic "No". She had zero interest. It's right here on Youtube, look it up. And only 9 episodes were filmed because this thing was a bomb.

Variety shows in the 70's are what reality shows are to this era.Reality shows will cease to exist much like variety shows, eventually.
