No, it's because it's a male. They have bigger claws to impress females. I should know. I own one (a vid of him is posted somewhere in YouTube...)

hi i was the original creator of this video. you can buy a rainbow/fiddler at any local store. check with them what water they use, im in singapore, and tapwater works fine, hes alive and well for almost 2 years already. feeds on anything.

hi its been 1 year and my crab is stillalive. sorry to say but its not a fiddler! its a rainbow crab. he doesnt require any special water treatment. tap water will do. do feed with anythnig - crab feeds, prawns, fruits, raw vege. molts about 4 - 6 times as a year

Okay so I just got a fiddler crab a day ago and I seriously need help. I don't know ANYTHING about them. All she does is stand in one place for hours. LITERALLY! I'm scared it's because of her health or it's the water. Because when she was in her little container she was so active. And now she's like, frozen. But she's still alive. HELP!!!!

so guys out there asking....... coming from my knowledge (what i read) they need land and water... they usally are not the best lonely... you usally need a big enough cage... sand and a place to hide in their habitat.... and do not keep them with fish or other critters... it molts about every two months... if they lose a arm or leg dont worry it will grow back.. make sure the tank has a top they always find ways to escape.. i also have two crabs (male and female)... i wanna get rid of them thow

Very cute. I have two fiddler crabs. I have one male and one fale (unknown gender). I cannot tell the fale crab's gender because it is missing one pincher. The males have one larger pincher than the other; females have small pinchers. But I'm sure he/she will grow it back, because he/she probably lost it during molting and crabs akways lose limbs during molting and grow it back.

@TheBuskerdoo look up how to determine sexes. the bottom plating on their shells are different, females is wider without the line i believe
