hey leach55, have you sold your tickets for the Great Dorset Steam fair to that tramp next door to you yet? he wants two tickets for the event as his little dog Scampy wants to go and see the fairground organs, have a go on the rides and then the tramp wants to go in the pub with the other tramps and get drunk as a skunk. Let me know if the tramp gives you any trouble...just give him your tickets and he will give you a cigar lighter in exchange! Nice hey....cherrio xx
to buy the older organs you would have to be more than a millionaire, hope that anwsers your question and there are organ builders still building these for showman like my husband!
some of these bigger organs cost thousands infact one organ 6 years ago was sold for (GET READY FOR THIS) it was sold for..... (four hundred thousand pounds)and another organ of the same key is forsale for a similar price which is horrendous isint it? you can buy these organs from companies like , Dean organ builders, Alan Pell Music, Decap, Verbeek organ builders, Heebeen, Page and Howard and I think thats all.......
yes they do still make the books for all kinds of mechanical organs. Most arrangers are linked to places that have either computer controlled cutting machines or in some instances, there are those who still prefer to cut the books by hand. It is though, still big business in Holland, Belgium and England.

Irvin's Marenghi is huge when you stand next to it. On this video it only looks small but when you see it at a steam rally it is a giant .

@Totallyfairorgans indeed it is

The "Ghetto Blaster" is one of the best fairground or band organs I have heard on video. I can only imagine hearing this beast in person.

At 2:40 the song is the 'Clarinet Polka'. The whole book is a 'Polka Medley' comprising of 3 different tunes.

The ex-Irvin's 89 key Marenghi & 110 key Gavioli sound superb, a credit to the organ maintenance staff of Graham Atkinson

the Harry Potter music theme is in the video, right?
DerOrgelfan 4 years ago
I believe from my 11 year son who is more clued up than me, that the 105 key Marenghi/Verbeeck is playing the theme from Harry Potter

The Centenary Organ is perfect, I really like the new façade!!!!!! Those new arrangements from Hiddo van Os are great!
mortier92antwerp 4 years ago
There are those that think that the half naked model positioned at the top of the Centenary organ, is infact Vicky Pollard from "Little Britain"
