@SVXSubaru i got my 92 legacy in a ditch with allseason tire 65%tread about 5ft ditch down fairly steep i creeped out of it but with winter tires probly could of made out better and quicker

@flinty2006 I can testify to that, my mom has herself a brand new Subaru Outback - and she can pull out of snow that my 4x4 lifted truck on 33's has issues getting out (Just gotta slam throgh.. but she can just drive right on out without a single issue!)

You have never been stuck in a mud hole or snow. Sometimes that's the only way your going to move. He got out by spinning his tires. If he didn't break traction he would still be trying. Sometimes it's threequarter throttle and barly crawl out. Otherwise you just sit there not breaking traction.

awd is great but if you dont have the ground clerance you will get hung up. this car did great for how low it sits.

The driver has the rock-the-car thing down pretty well, but should try NOT to spin the tires. Spinning like that often heats the tires, smoothes out the snow, creates ice, and digs you in deeper. Better tires, as others have stated, would help a lot too.
