We got a bunch of slant sixes sitting round in Australia, no-one does them up very much. You'rs looks mad - but here the zoomie pipes are fully illegal, so you'd lose a lot of the effect.
In my opinion, the Slant-6 is the best gasoline powered engine ever built. I've had three and could not kill them no matter what I put them through. Why did Chrysler stop building them?
The Slant Six is one of the very best engines ever produced. Period. Superb choice of powerplant and it's great to see one on full display as yours is.
I have got a very good hint for you to keeping the nice old Engine in good shape with todays ultra dry eco fuels: Use 1:100 API TC two stroke oil / fuel mix as regular driving fuel, that keeps the old fuel-system gaskets, rubber parts, alloy parts etc... and cast iron metal surfaces of those vintage engines in excellent shape and it also lubricates the valves and upper piston regions. Most Porsche vintage owners do so Also keeps carbs and tank clean and rustfree! ..

Its great to see someone use an old workhorse slant six in a T-bucket, im getting sick and tired of seeing great looking T's with cookie-cutter small block chevs. Bravo on your rig.
Glad to see you had the imagination to build one of the great sixes instead of just dropping in a SBC like so many others. Slant six can surprise people-- know mine did & it was stock with 175,000 miles on it.
Nice.. very nice! It has a one-off, "mad science" look to it. I love all that skewed hardware and plumbing, reminds me of Ed Roth's asymmetrical designs. Hats off for creating something fairly unique, which is what the hobby is about.
good job. something different for a change. those slant sixes are really tough. i have seen slant 6 motors at circle track races run wide open all night long and never blow up.
very nice rat rod i have a slant 6 in a dodge fargo ´60 I thought this is torque engine but i´m watching that is an hp engine too and how long does it take a quarter mile?
mine did that too but no matter how i adjusted the dis or moved it to other teeth it never ran right.... i sold the truck this summer an i wish i hadnt. :(
Thanks for the comment terrylittlejohn. I have a Lunati grind # SPLL2-295, part # 40000. Split duration.507 intake, .519 exhaust. 250/260 @ 050 lift. This cam was number 3 out of 4 race cam grinds that lunati in their books 20 years ago. I cant wait to convert this T-Bucket into a good running fuel injected highway car so that I can drive it all over this state. I built the frame in this garage back in 1984, drove it 500 miles in 1992. More videos 2 come. this tcar will run agian by 4-2009 :~)
Very nice! The most reliable T-Bucket EVER!

Cool car, sounds great. Nice to see not only V8's get put into those rods. It's different and that makes it cool! I don't like the pipes tho.

i think a slant six would have been better in an old dodge since its a Chrysler engine...oh well.

I love the unmistakable sounds of a solid lifter "Leaning Tower of Power" .
Kudos to you for adding a unique drivetrain ( including trans AND diff !!! ) to your 'Bucket .

now i'm not trying to hate on the slant 6, but why performance build one instead of picking up a cheap 350 or something for your t-bucket project?
coolcono100 1 year ago
@coolcono100 WOW! I could've had a V-8! Then I would be just like everyone else.
atrox779 1 year ago
@coolcono100 Pasteurized, Homogenized, Tastes like chicken small block Chevy .
atrox779 1 year ago
@coolcono100
Why this engine instead of a 350?
Because he didnt build this car to do a 9 sec 1/4 mile.
He build this for a little fun on the highway and to have a little cool factor.
You put SBC in it and people will yawn when they see it.
This is cool off the charts.
You put this t-bucket next to one that has a SBC and everybody will huddle around this one.
24preacherboy 1 year ago
@coolcono100 everybody, their brother, and thir mother has a 350. part of hotroding is unique expression.

jojojo!! very good car!! i love the Slant six!! i´m from Argentina and here it´s a great engine for race!
in the 80s was widely used, reached an average of 7200 rpm and an average speed of 250 km / h!
did not come here many v8, so he dedicated both to improving 6cil engines, which are still running today! the slant was changed to Cherokee 4.0!
the slant is always won and banned other trademarks are complaining hahaha!
Greetings!

You might possibly have an older cam? Or possibly they can grind them now?
