These guys suck. No power. No talent. Kicks are weak as hell. My 9 year old American son would destroy these Koreans. We would stop the fight early as to save their life. Its cute but no good. We kick higher and Ten times stronger. Back when I fought TKD I broke or crushed 38 noses with Ax kicks . And crushed 6 windpipes turn jump side kicks. And Adidas gave me a ton of free stuff.
I figured as much but is that supost to be impresive? TKD is meant to be used as self defense. I've been the person going higher in standings but hurtting someone is never something to be proud of. The matches you won with control and technquie those are the ones to be proud of.

But they changed everything to the Shuttering force rule meaning no light contact points counted. I fought south Koreans that had incredible power. I wish Taekwondo will focus just a bit more on hand tehniques. At least to keep the hands hign during a fight. I know that in competitions is different but in a real brawl situation a complete fighter has the advantages. Anyway here's a LIKE for this video these guys are pure awesome.
@davidlee980503 They were both created in South Korea based on mostly shotokan, The style that became ITF style originally was the one endorsed by the South Korean goverment, it wasnt til Master Choi visited North Korea that he was removed from his position and the WTF style emerged. So really its not a north Korean style, so they use it for the military
@BluenosedJarl27 I wouldn't say taekwondo is a tradition since it was made by Choi Hong Hi in the mid 20th century. But itf is closer to original taekwondo because it didn't really turn into a sport as much as how it did with wtf.

@jenstefas North Koreans didn't make it. The itf taekwondo was founded by choi hong hi in seoul. Choi just taught them taekwondo as well, but it was never MADE there.
I have a lot of respect for them since very few can do what they do, but still too many mistakes and boards not broken, don't include these difficult moves in the routine if you haven't perfected them... They are still good but the WTF Korean Tigers are better.

Looking at 3:29 it looks like he tries to kick both boards, the first with his right and the second with his left. His left seems to simply graze the board rather than land solid, yet the holder on the left still has the split boards, one in each hand.

I saw live the North korean Teakwondo team in the 80's. They are really strong and they try to do things sometimes almost impossible but in fact the 3:30 minute of this video seems to me a cheat. In fact they are really good, acrobatic and strong. According to my information they have special opportunities to train, so they are professionals don't have to do anything else just taekwondo and I think they are professional solders and combat-teachers of the NK army.

I saw live the North korean Teakwondo team in the 80's. They are really strong and they try to do things sometimes almost impossible but in fact the 3:30 minute of this video seems to me a cheat. In fact they are really good, acrobatic and strong. According to my information they have special opportunities to train, so they are professionals don't have to do anything else just taekwondo and I think they are professional solders and combat-teachers of the NK army.

they aren't ALL dying of starvation. there's a documentary about this guy who was allowed to go and document their lives. it actually doesn't look that bad besides the statues and posters of kim jong il all over the place
