    And in that contract Tata paid "if the technology worked as per MDI claims". Tata aren't pursuing the technology because it doesn't work and MDI via their franchise holders are saying they aren't getting any money from Tata. Like I said Tata are to clever to send buckets of money to MDI

  • OK dummies go buy an air compressor and see how many solar pannels,windmills etc it takes to run a 220 volt electric motor,one is transfering electric energy to an air tank#2 hook up the biggest air tool you can (a poisher-grinder) most home compressors won't even keep up with the tool,the negitivity your reading is based on fact not pie in the sky wishfull thinking 1 cup of gas is = to 4 sticks dynomite now thats energy storage!!!!

  • OMG!!! OK people you are going to always lose energy. Get over it. The issue here is not to burn fossil fuel in millions of cars. Not only are you saving the environment, you are saving the energy of making gas. Compressing air is easy and inexpensive to make. We as a world need this. I would gladly pay an extra $2 a gallon for gas if the money went to the inventors of these technologies.

    Why aren't manufactures clambering to get this car on the market? There has got to be an answer that is not political or cynical in nature. There seem to be so many answers to our energy problem but no real action on the solutions. Is the entire world under the thumb of the Oil & Gas industries?

  • well, the problem is is that the powered used to compress the air uses electricity, were does electricity come from? most likely these days from a plant that its emissions cancel out the air cars product ability. but, in cities, were co2 is around, not creating more is good like these cars, but your just moving air, so its almost no point. i hope that answers your question. plus, i hate how they keep saying" breathable air" air air air air oxygen air breathable exhaust. its so freakin annoyin:(

  • The biggest difference to that is it's easier to control the pollution at one central location that it is to control pollution from 12,000 cars. At least that's the way it would work in theory.

  • What they are talking about is regenerative feedback. Not perpetual motion. Yes, regenerative feedback would make the car more efficient. The car is more efficient too because you're not losing energy in the form of heat as you do with most combustion engines. Yes, this car gives off heat, but not as much. Again, much more efficient than today's cars. Your days are numbered Exxon Mobil.

  • That maybe would increase it's performance, but, since energy can't be created nor destroyed, we have ourselves an energy leak here! the heat! friction increases kinetic energy of the atoms, thus, generating heat, wich disipates in the atmosfere, therefore, losing that part of the energy we can reuse, and eventually running out of it, this is part of the "perfect engine" theory in thermodynamics.

  • when the more clued in people who make PET bottles on machines called single stage machines, they re-use the exhaust from the 40 bar blowing process and store the exhaust at 6-8 bar for other processes on the machine.

    somethig like this could be done on an air car. steam engine used to use the steam 3 times at diffrent pressures, using the exhaust from one cylinder to another. Compressed air can create high torque

  • they could do this, but the system may weigh enough that cancels out its efficency. nonetheless, they should try and aksi make the cars more aerodynamic. if there gonna say air 500 billion times they should at least makes theyre car areodynamic, then it would be so much more efficent

  • also this is an advertising hype video. they could use some exhaust air to gete some free electricity as it goes out, it would be a fraction of what went in, but would extend the range. they could also use braking to craTE MORE COMPRESSED AIR. electric regen braking now available could make electricity to make more air too

  • I don't think that the presenter of this part of discovery channel had any idea of thermodynamics. They may say that solar cell will make energy because you can generate electricity again from solar cell using bulb? Air motors are the most inefficient way of converting into mechanical energy.

  • thats not correct. the mdi is one of few air car ideas. like an electric motor in a prius power is low but toruqe is as good a medium size six. air motors make torque. In some places they even store waste overnight power from power stations as compressed to be made in electricity again during peak period. We are asleep and so ignorant. Solar, wind and waves energy can make compressed air to run cars and make it locally. I SAY GET BEHIND IT.
