Your instinct on where to trim it is correct. I would cut it at the point where the new buds are. It's all a matter of where you want to cut it though because it'll grow and spread no matter where you cut it. It looks very healthy though. Congrats! :)
make some lasagna with that basil it gets huge trim whenever u can
