Finally, after all these years I see the game in its full. I never got past this stage with all the doors. I kept popping up in places I'd already been on that level. Never got to the final boss stage ever. Even now I watch it, I still can't see how it's done. I assume the characters above the doors mean something but I could never figure it out and still can't!

I think they tell you which door goes where, i'm not sure though, I just know which route to take.

@BigGigantos The characters above the doors are numbers from 1 to 8, so I'd guess it explains which section of the labyrinth you are in...

@BigGigantos @MRMIdAS2k the characters are the numbers in Kanji (Japanese) so you need to go with the sequence from 1 to 10 most of the time its the door with a candle to the right, the numbers are: 一(ichi) one, 二 (ni) two, 三 (san) three, 四 (yon or shi, but shi means death, thats why japanese ppl dont use 4 as shi they think the number 4 is for bad luck :P) four, 五 (go) five, 六 (roku) six, 七 (nana) seven, 八 (hachi) eight, 九 (kyuu) nine, 十 (jyuu) ten. The sequence should be 一三四八二六 (134826) (^_^)

What! I don't remember seeing nine or ten. I might have to play again, but sure enough that sequence does not include either one. :D

Also 4 is the same in Chinese, and maybe other languages, so same thing there... Just like 13 for western peoples the number of the reaper xD

Anyway congrats MrM, I had to use save states so many times after losing my power up... btw any idea about that thing that flies off the ninja master?!

@SashuRui if you mean the last boss he is like a kabuki dancer in minute 3:03 they move the hair like that, there is even a game for NES called Kabuki Quantum Dancer, its like Castlevania and Getsu Fuma Den style, he uses his hair as a weapon just like this one (^_^)

I never realized for the longest time, but the rooms are numbered one through eight, signifying the one you're in. That might help, but not much as it took me a while just now and my hands started getting sweaty. Just when you get to the branching paths where you gotta crouch, you know you're close.

As my 8 year old self I could never get passed the second to last level on that stage with all the door ways. Oh well I made it that far, didn't even realize how close to the end I was - I used to look for ages for the exit.

As for the final fight, the only thing that came to my was the song: "I whip my hair back and forth" lol.

Cool. I was good as you when I was in my prime playing this game. I even beat it on the hardest with 0 shirukens. I prefer using the lightning shield against the last boss, just to make sure I keep my power up.

Jesus Christ, you are amazing, MRMIdAS2k. Not in my wildest dreams could I play this game on the same level as you can. While I've been able to beat it with both endings, I could NEVER play with such mastery and finesse as you can (especially on the hardest difficulty). Great run!

there is an easy way to stop the wall from going down. just throw shuriken into the hole that you can see in the wall at 3:20.

there is one at the right and one at the left.

they will stop the mechanism for a few second.

I know you can't use the self destruct & the fire dragons pillar magic on the end boss cuz it can't hurt no matter what but your alot better then me able to get through every stage without lossing your pow up & using ur protection magic. I always have to use the protection magic on cetain times to i don't lose the pow up which I hardly ever do any ways.

i've finished this game countless of times this & shinobi 3 is my old time favs outter the series. I just always thought the fire & self distruct magic is no good against him but i'll guess i'll try it. as for the little object you see flying out of him when he dies i does any one no what it is.
