I think it's important to know what you want, but also on things you're willing to give up. I love British accents as much as the next girl, but I'd be willing to marry someone without it. But things like compassion and chivalry are non-negotiable. When I say chivalry, I don't just mean opening doors and pulling out chairs, although that's fantastic. I mean someone who would diffuse an embarassing situation for anyone, not just a cute girl.

anywhere you live people will not notice the accent they have because it is their culture. When you come across the pond we all cream ourselves over an accent we can understand and not hear often. How often do you hear an American say they love Accents from the Middle East? I have heard that when Americans goto Europe 1 of 2 things happens, 1) people go nuts because of accent or american, 2) we are hated for being arrogant and shallow. I'm sure 2 happens more often?
