from england bro you got good taste cause that ghetto boy track is prolly one of the best gangster tracks ever,i like the way you break things down 100% in agreement,i think back then the raps were so real or came across real you could feel the power in there voices!!!!!
i love all your vids, just postin here to ask a question: have you watched that documentary "rhyme and punishment"? talks a lot about the prison industrial complex. its on youtube
Gangsta hip hop has caused a great deal of controversy, with many observers criticizing the genre for the perceived messages it espouses, including misogyny, racism, materialism...
Hater, Gangsta are essential parts of hip hop. Why? because hip hop is to tell the truth. Telling the truth is the element that gets Hip Hop into the most controversy but it also serves to highlight the nature of life for the street and the poor.
I feel that whether political or gangster most "rappers" or "hip hop" or whatever they call themselves are fundamental hyperbolic. Music is an expression of personal experience and to take it literally can warp the intended sentiment.
yo Dr JJ, we have to keep it gangsta man, in South Africa, we tryna bring back the black family coz the reason we so gangsta, growing up in the aftermath of colonialism/slavery/apartheid, we don'thave fathers, uncle so and so on the streets is your father, we brought up by single mothers, we become softies, you get bullied, the OG's give you game then life changes... its a blessing, I got like 5 father figures and I don't have a father, thats why I'm gangsta, paying homage to OG's that made me..

Somebody asked me once, how can we draw a line between the real Curtis Jackson and the artist 50 Cents. Do you know the difference?

Hip hop is an art. there are no rules of expression or definition. I believe hip hop to be a fairly advanced artform of poetry...
