  • This may be from woodstock?....John Sebastian is wearing the same thing he was at the woodstock festival..maybe some clip from the movie perhaps..or unseen ,?

  • absolutely love these artists, but would suggest watching this with the sound on mute. one of, if not the single worst performance they've ever done together. guitars tuned in different keys, harmonies horrible, even handclaps out of time and certainly out of place. didn't really even like joni's interpretation of the song, although i rate her best female singer/songwriter in history. this is not the way i want to remember any of these artists sounding.

  • that blonde haired chic :40 is gorgeous

  • wonder which of the band was "doing" Joni at the time?

  • @davekelly1957 you are a total dick.

  • @mfmazurek It was meant as a joke. I am a big fan of Joni and CSN&Y and have been for about 35 years. From the video you couldn't tell which "item" was operative at that time.

  • @davekelly1957 i got it. just thought it was kind of a low blow (so to speak). bad day i guess -- i almost always ignore. joni probably would have laughed it off. my apologies for the vehemence of the dick comment.

  • @mfmazurek No problem mate. Guess I should be more careful about comments, as people don't always know when I'm joking. No harm done. Joni is still unique and I think she would have laughed at my comment too!!

  • crosby stills nash john sabastian joni (anderson) mitchell and neil young.

    where was neil!!! my favorite

  • I can't believe this doesn't have more views.

  • But otherwise thanks for uploading; this is awesome!!!!!

  • You spelled Joni Mitchell wrong. It's two l's.

  • As pessoas eram mais felizes, mais simples era a felicidade ?

  • Ah, young love! Graham and Joni.

BTW that's Big Sur not Big Surf.

  • We look back on this time now with a much more jaded eye and recognize that the Hippie scene was pretty naive, but one thing this particular generation should be remembered for was their belief in Love and Brotherhood. As the situation in the Middle East grows more volatile daily with the Russians and US at odds over Syria and the Iranian Nuclear program scaring everyone silly we need to find a way to step back and see each other as fellow human beings again who share the same fears and dreams.

  • Neil Young is not on the video. It's John Sebastian, next to Stephen Stills.

  • @pierrelacroix yes its sabastian!!

  • @pierrelacroix ''spot on'' !

  • Graham Nash was a super babe.

  • Sebastian is still among the best harmonica players I've ever heard. Can play two songs at once on one harp. Never would have believed it if I hadn't heard it with my own ears....

  • Wow!!!! Love this and I have never seen it before! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!!!!

  • Take me back there!!!!!

  • John Sebastian, on the other side of Stephen Stills, is also part of this little group, while Neil Young isn't. Just to make sure all the correct performers get acknowledged, maybe you should correct your artist list, SlippyPsychonaut.

  • Graham Nash looks as if he is in love with Joni - but she doesn't look so keen... or am I reading too much into it? (this must have been around the time they had a scene together). By all accounts, she was the one who broke up the relationship.

  • Magic...

  • wow , this is Great :) QC

  • That stoned girl at 0:42 is now 60 years old.

  • Sorry, Neil Young is nowhere in this video. The man on the mic with Steve Stills, is John Sebastian, wearing pretty much the same outfit he wore at Woodstock.

  • Can somebody please tell me where this was?

  • @jtubelie Elasen Insitute south of Big Sur, California around 68'-69

  • beautiful

    beautiful

    love always

  • I didn't know angles had voices

  • @carlacostantino angles dont, angels do. :) miaowww

  • they are all so high, I love it. haha

  • Dig it!I think I feel like having a coke! ...Mmm, those times where crazy.Seems like a more laid back time, exept for vietnam missed it by months.

  • this was the best time to grow up....no one was afraid to say anything..people need to chill out and not take things to heart or stop someone from speaking what they believe.you cant say this or that because "god" forbid you might offend someone..hey this is a free country ..

  • Crosby, Stills, Nash, John (Sebastian) ,& Joni Mitchell

  • @SuperSandman27 Yeah! Just wanted to comment! :D

  • Comment removed

  • i ment angel lol

  • Not working!!!! Boo hoo hoo!!!

  • God a voice of an angle

  • @LTDanno360

    obtuse or acute?

  • song was written by Dino Valenti , lead singer for Quicksilver Messenger Service , 1965-1967 there wasn't a more exciting time for music, all music...except they had to throw that Dirty Little War in Nam & as usual the American people were dumb & stupid enough to let them get away with it .

  • No Neil there - John Sebastian though

  • 00:34 is what STONED looks like ((((-_-))))

  • this makes me feel out of my genoration

  • awesome

  • this is awful...i never understood why people are so in love with her voice and lots of overdubs. I love this music but.....

  • @apemanstreetwalker

I'm with you. Check out Get Together - Jesse Colin Young - No Nukes1979 with Jackson Browne.

  • this is awful...i never understood why people are so in lover with her voice and lots of overdubs. I love this music but.....

  • Joni is amazing. How could you not love her?

BTW Isn't that the same stuff Sebastian wore at Woodstock?

  • @ShakinSlim So?

  • Neil Young is not in the video. The title is incorrect.

  • @rosweed1 so?

  • @rosweed1 Thank you very much. I've been trying to figure out who the guy in the yellow shirt is, but I know it's not Neil. I don't hear any piano, either... Looking below, I guess it's John Sebastian of the Lovin' Spoonful. But Neil was at Big Sur, and sang/played on Sea of Madness, so where was he?? Was this Sept 1969?

  • The 1969 Big Sur, California folk festival. Joni Mitchell, David Crosby, Steven Stills, Graham Nash and John Sebastian of the Lovin' Spoonful doing a song that became a huge hit for The Youngbloods called "Get Together".

  • so where and when was this?

  • I love when David Crosby smiles.I smile right along with him everytime.

  • Comment removed

  • Nashie's so much in love.....

  • This may be the Concert from Big Sur 1969 maybe.

  • John Sebastian. The Lovin' Spoonful. He's a sixties guy.

  • who's wearing the bright yellow vest on the left?

  • Holy shit...the more time passes the more obviious Joni's genius is, and how high above all the rest of her talented peers she flew. Thank G-d we have records of these kinds of performances

  • As someone stated the good vibrations are almost too much, especially with jonis voice.Jesus, good job I wasnt actually there.

  • When young guitarists were inspired by Joni Mitchell, they found that the tunes they played to the sheet music just didn't sound right. Turns out this amazing creative artist had tuned her guitar in a way that sounded right to her -- a completely new tuning. It's that sort of innovation that caused Joni to influence so many singer-songwriters of the 70's to cut loose. The Time-Life CD series "Singers & Songwriters" has Joni's influence written all over it.

  • It was much more fun being there (with appropriate drugs) than watching it on the 'puter. But, man, does it take me back. Now, if I only had some of those drugs I just took for granted!!

  • For all too young to have been there, this is for you. Pure and Real is all you see and hear in this absolutely rich, gorgeous and edible piece of film. No identification of this footage: Rockies? California? East? No matter. Flowers Ohm and Zen for all.

  • holy crap, the good vibrations are too immense to handle. dancing flower bro's and sisters, and csn and joni, i could die right now.

  • John Sebastian is also on vocals (far stage right)

  • wow!!!!

  • I love Joni Mitchell.she never hit a bum note in her life.

  • Check out crosbys version I think it's the best version i've heard.

  • oops! sorry bout that! I didn't think it worked the first 100 times I tried it.

  • that was John Sebastian...not Neil Young

  • @hydraIX Yep!

  • @hydraIX Yep!

  • @hydraIX Yep!

  • It's is stating that We can get passed all the little things that hold us back and Love one another

  • Beautiful...Really this is...So Mellow

  • Wow, thnxxxx!! Heard two versions tonight of Get Together hadn't heard before....the other version being by H.P. Lovecraft. The ultimate anthem from a happier & more hopeful time....

  • Oh man. I'm in old school singer songwriter heaven.

  • i didnt see neill young?it isnt the guy with the glasses! still,a different brand of human beings there,no weird chemical substances in the grass!

  • If it sounds good while on drugs just remember that you are listening to a chemically induced episode of schizophrenia.

  • so great !!! What a feeling, still..... after all these years.

  • Steven Stills should have put down the pipe long enough to tune his guitar!

  • "Play Like a Girl" June and Jean Millington ~ Kickstarter website

  • Beautifull people, beautifull music,i was the same age back then.Seemed we could change the world, then came the negativity of Manson and stars dying of drug overdoses and everything started to come undone. The music and the feelings of that era will live on though, ''Peace''.

  • God damn hippieeees !!!!

  • mi querida joni mitchell haciendo un cover de youngbloods. veo a john sebastian aompañando en los coros.alguien me podria decir donde conseguir este material y en q lugar se realizo..gracias por la ayuda

  • I was their age back then. Makes me feel young watching CSN and the incomparable Joni Mitchell. We're fortunate to see them so easily.

  • It sure looks like this was at Woodstock '69, seems like a different stage, but John Sebastian wears the same shirt! Or maybe he wears it a lot, lol! So again, where was this?

  • @Nesh16041972 Big Sur

  • 4:44 Jackson Five? XD

  • I think it's awesome how John Sebastian (The Lovin Spoonful) is just singing like it's no big deal with his fellow musicians. Stuff like that doesn't happen anymore

  • I love this video. Pure beauty and joy.

  • what is the name of teht festival?

  • @angelotomandl12 woodstock 69

  • @angelotomandl12 Not woodstock. It was held in Big Sur, California

    No idea about the name

  • @MrCaseydiggz

...Big Sur Folk Festival...I was there...Simply amazing...

  • which year is this ?

  • @dannzeL1 1969

  • I love CSN but WOW, Joni Mitchell’s playing and singing has Graham Nash and Steven Crosby clapping like spectators and even Steven Stills can be seen looking over in amazement. She is blessed with enormous talent.

  • I rember the vibe back then. That will never happen again, glad i was young at the right time.

  • this viddie really encapsulates the spirit of that era....we used to gather and jam acoustic in fields at the drop of a hat....these guys are having a blast and making great music in the process....Joni, Steve, David and Graham never sounded better imho ..

  • cripe....what a drugfest....i can smell the gange thru the screen

  • Joni Mitchell has the most beautiful voice ever, and i love being the only 17 year old i know that is aware of that

  • In November 2010 Californians can vote for legalisation of the softdrugs, that made the Sixties Peace Movement what it was. Being high means you start thinking about yourself, your friends, about the demands your parents, state, country makes. Does it make sense when you're stoned, than it probably is good!!!

  • @basvossen

Right on brother! Freedom for the people! What a concept.

  • @jx14aby

I really wish, that everyone now has seen what the ego-era has brought us, and that the Real Spirit of the Sixties is about togetherness.

Hard drugs like coke, speed, crack, xtc and heroine are brought into our scene by the CIA, to kill it. Read Guitar Army, a book by John Sinclair (former MC5manager).

We Can Make It Work! Renewable energy was a hippie plan. Now the rest!

  • @basvossen

"Renewable energy was a hippie plan."

Try to keep that to yourself.

    Cheers from los angeles.

  • @basvossen Goed verhaal, lekker kort!

  • @basvossen Then you start having panic attacks and its not worth while

  • @basvossen just don't drive around me while your toked up!

  • @basvossen

that has to be the most dumb assed comment i hae ever heard. the changes in the 60s came from hard work from key individuals. vietnam ended not because of long hair and canibis, it ended becaue the big buisnesses it siuted now found it wasnt needed. LSD and the psychedelics may have some benefits in a far off future, if current renewed research goes well. but drugs make you think about things? hmm, maybe, but many folk DONT,.... think inner cities, what relevance ????????

  • @basvossen Thinking outside the box is a choice and getting blown out of your box massively increases the chance of mental health problems. Don't care if you believe it, I'm working in mental health these last few years and it's been an eye opener.

Use your brain gently ... don't f@<& it.

The 60s was what it was because lots of kids from ordinary families went to college and read Erich Fromm, Herman Hesse, Jung, Lao Tzu, Kinsey, Alan Watts... blah blah. And kids were being sent to war.

  • Being mean to joni mitchell is like kicking a puppy. Yes it took me a bit, 30 years ago to fall in love with the amazing things this woman does with her voice. And once a sone is a song, if the people who wrote it aint bitching, why you. She has MS so you should be "thrilled", I personally cried. What she just sang, the words are what we need to be people! I'll take her view 4 our country than any politicians. We have all lost our way but pray we get back to the dream of peace.

  • Why post something mean? Pretty sure this song is still getting some serious airplay. I like the video. It feels like an honest representation of how it would've sounded if you were there with them in that moment.

  • ok sorry..

  • You're in luck, Pan.

This isn't "her music." She didn't write this song or make it a hit.

Crawl back to your rock now . . .

  • You're an idiot!

  • My God, all so young, makes me realize how old I am!!! LOL

    amazing, thanks for sharing!

  • It's; Crosby, Stills, Nash & (John) Sebastian! Lead vox by Joni Mitchell. Performed at "Big Sur", CA, from the film; 'Celebration at Big Sur', 1969.

  • you're right , he isn't Neil Young

  • The feeling is there x

  • Thanks for posting, but I have a question re: the title of the video: where's Young?!

  • great stuff though I wish Stills would stop showboating!

  • At least Stills has something to show off about, not like that dickhead John Sebastion who cant even clap properly. How the f.... he got to be up there with such talent amuses me.

  • but the song was called EVERYBODY get together, its an inclusive kinda theme

  • Superbe video! Toujours grandiose de les voir réunis.

  • JUST AMAZING!!!!!!! My God shes wonderful, the young bloods would have been in awe

  • F**k i remember all that folky stuff from when all you could do was go and listen to a load of leftist drugies in any local pub on a saturday night.... better forgotten.
