Sundown is very conservative with their power ratings. These can easily handle a clean 1000rms. My amp was clamped doing just under 1500rms. Its been burped many times at max amp power with no problems. These subs are incredible.

will it take the 1600 rms all day im about to order the 15in version and idk what to order the dual 4 or dual 2 sais the rms is 1250 its one of though hybrid ones

@ebach1996 It will do a clean 1000 rms all day long. It starts to get warm with anything above that and at about 1300-1400 it starts to stink. I have over driven it tons of times showing off and it handles it like a champ. The coil still has good color. Its all about knowing the subs limits with your setup. These subs can take a beating for sure. For a single sub I would go with the dual 2 ohm. For dual subs then go with dual 4ohm.

this is kind of a stupid question but does it look like you can squeeze 2 gauge wire into that amp. the site says 4 awg but I'd like to squeeze in 2 if i can. thanks in advance

@smoky0937 If you want to use 2g then just thin out the wire where it goes into the amp and leave the rest. Its not going to matter because its only 1/2 to 3/4 inch you will be thinning out. 4g fits tight.

I have big 3 and 1/0 back to amp with yellow top optima, i had a 10.0 soundstream back in the day and was pleased, way underated cheater amp. soundstream has changed hands since then i think and i am out of the loop, but your vid is reasuring the quality is still there. thanks for responding, getting one this week!

Yes Soundstream has changed hands. Power Acoustik now owns them but they still use the Soundstream technology and boards. Not that all Power Acoustik is junk because they do make some good stuff. Soundstream did go through crappy period but have come back with quality stuff.

Do u have stock alternater? how many amps? i currently have oldschool lanzar 2500, it has alot of power but needs a ton of power, looking at 1600d instead of high output alternater

I have stock alt with big 3 upgrade. Stock puts out I think 80 amps and I also have a 3farad cap. Lights barely dim and voltage drop is very little. I will get a second battery and get rid of the capacitor but for now it works fine. Yes Some Lanzar amps are power hogs. I really like the 1600d. Its a solid amp.

@fukenbrok I was told that 1000rms of clean power is perfect for this sub. I only smelled the coil one time but I was beating it really hard breaking it in. My gains are turned down and bass boost is very low. I know when Im pushing it too far so I have everything set so I dont get to that point.
