@ely66 ive come close to true meditation, you do kinda enter a sleep like state but your aware of everything. as if your awake. while in this state you can travel anywhere just like in a dream. you should try it its awesome :)
The purpose of meditation is to relax mind and body, im sure conservatives will tell you that it may be a form of worshiping the Devil or something but having been a Christian i never found any legitimate reason as to why it would interfere with any God or religion. Meditate away :)

@Snowbuni00luv I don't think you have to believe in a God, because Buddhism is more of a philosophy. You just have to want to be more in tune with yourself, and the things around you. As for me, I never focus on a God, just the universe and its beauty. :)
just breathe and when a thought arises mindfully notice your attention has wandered and mindfully bring it back to breath and continue breathing and if a thought comes just mindfully notice the mind has wandered and bring the attention back mindfully. do these things with mindfullness and have patience with yourself and the results will be great. its just that simple, oh and read some books about "Metta". keep in mind that you meditate not only for your wellbeing but for all sentient beings.

Buddhism is a beautiful way of life, its not even a religion... yeah but if that cosmic energy existed you should feed your body with limited amount of energy daily, since this "cosmic" stuff is claimed to be infinite. I think nothing is true from this, tho i think relaxation may be useful against stress, and helps to maintain a healthy nervous system. So i do not argue against relaxation, i just say that that how it is explained on this video is bullshit. But just gimme one proof of the existence of this cosmic energy, and i will change my mind.

It makes no difference if one or a million can do it, if you ask that its possible. I one can prove it, then its true. But i have never heard about such had been proved, for example if that yogi would have been closed into a camera room for a 3-6 months, with his metabolism monitored, and he had stood alive. I think that this because he would die actually from this :D

Yeah that is when I get the floating sensation, when normal breathing becomes small and thin. That's when that weird feeling happens that I can't explain..

I feel my heart beating, I thought if it is right or wrong to listen to my heartbeats. Soon I started thinking I should really start concentrating on the meditation, I started thinking of ways to cut what I'm thinking, suddenly video stopped I thought if i should replay it.......... total failure...

when i meditate. i get to a point were im in a black room and i start walking to somthing but cant see it. and for some reason i cant keep my eyes close when i get to that point that i fell that im infront of whatever the thing is.
I think you need to get in to this to actually feel good and things like that for a long time. I dont think you will feel and good and stuff after like the first 3 times, but maybe after a few weeks of doing it or something.. I am really gonna try to do this everyday to be able to relax easier

i find it impossible to stop thinking about stuff, i think without knowing it sometimes then i suddenly snap out of it an dhave to start all over again.
I too have this problem, but it's getting better and better all the time, besides our mind is an untamed beast. Trying to tame it in one sitting would be like to try and stop a tsunami with straw breakers. It doesn't work that easy. It takes practice, patience and some technique. I find chanting mantras some minutes helps me get into that frame of mind
Meditation requires intensity, a continuous uninterrupted effort from your attention. If you fall asleep then you are not meditating.
Put your intensity to bring your awareness into the NOW and stay into the NOW without interruption for as long as you can. Focus on the NOW!
It is more important than the technique you use to do it. More important than observing your breath, more important than trying to control your thoughts. It's the secret key about it.
It may not prevent physical diseases but it can certainly prevent mental diseases, depression, suffering, stress. Meditation is liberating. When you bring your awareness into the NOW, you shut down your mental noise. No mental noise means no more regrets (past) or fears (future) and what's left is pure joy. Your essence.
Meditation opens many doors in terms of health. Disease is physical body problem. Everyone here has the ability within to overcome more than they think is possible.
what's important is the concept. meditation helps me with almost every aspect of my life. small details vary in meditative theories but they all accomplish the same thing. health and mind benefits.
how long do u meditate and how often a day, and as far as helping my day reallyi can meditate for over an hour and when im done il feel good and calm for about i duno 15 minutes then it all goes away and im bak to square one so how can that help me?
well, there are two things you can do. try visual meditation, it lasts longer with me. go to my profile I have my two favorite visual meditation as favorites.
Also another thing I do that helps me through my day (this is a little more similar to the law of attraction but still leaves me feeling happy and calm) is sit down with a notebook and make a list of all the best moments in your life and focus on the feeling it gives you. for example: Christmas morning, first kiss, ect.
it was awesome. but i had to do it in layers. and become aware of the universe and all of creation. of course you have to start by emptying your mind and detaching yourself from sensations of your body. but then focus on a solid object ( a desk) and imagine yourself moving through it in it. realizing they are all made up of electricity just like you.
then going further and realizing that i could move in and out of the desk and the desk was sitting on the earth then things sped up quickly once i inhabited the earth i saw the universe from the earths point of view. then wanting to go further i realized the earth was also connected to the universe like a mitochondria in a single cell organism. so i expanded my consciousness to envelop the universe. took some time but damn it was an awesome view!
so out of curiosity. To see if it is a true astral plane, can you walk on over to your neighbors room and see what they are doing? Or walk past thru a room unseen before and know what is in there? Just curious to see if this is a real astral plane or if its due to our imagination
haha bcuz then i can confirm if I was really in that state. Yes I wouldn't mind seeing some action but the real point is to see if something really happened. If my neighbor was excercising in my Meditative state, I can confirm it with them. Otherwise everything is just in the mind. And yes I am horny sometimes but we all have sexual urges and it would be fun to know what others are doing in bed as well lol
why do you want to confirm it? so you can glorify yourself and impress your friends with your new abilities? lol. it doesnt work that way. if you seek verification you add doubt for the new world your stepping into. you just have to trust. that what you are seeing is real. or else you will get nowhere.

you know little... during meditation, your physiology gives you what is needed. If you find yourself become sleepy, it's because your body needs sleep. It is best to let that happen instead of straining to maintain a specific level of consciousness. meditation is effortless.
At 1:54 i thought that some exorcist face was gunna pop up lol i got scared lol but it didn't... im going to try this, but i just got back to from the dentist and all my teeth hurt? Is that going to interfere with my meditating? as long as i don't think about it right?
when a part of the body's in pain, it makes it harder to meditate. you want to make yourself as comfortable as possible but try and keep yourself stable (back straight).
iv been mediating for a long time. no thought state seems impossible to me..

It makes no difference if one or a million can do it, if you ask that its possible. I one can prove it, then its true. But i have never heard about such had been proved, for example if that yogi would have been closed into a camera room for a 3-6 months, with his metabolism monitored, and he had stood alive. I think that this because he would die actually from this :D

Please tell the truth. Have you ever stopped thinking? When I though I stopped thinking, I was thinking I wasn't thinking.. I feel my heart beating, I thought if it is right or wrong to listen to my heartbeats. when i meditate. i get to a point were im in a black room and i start walking to somthing but cant see it. and for some reason i cant keep my eyes close when i get to that point that i fell that im infront of whatever the thing is.

I think you need to get in to this to actually feel good and things like that for a long time. I dont think you will feel and good and stuff after like the first 3 times, but maybe after a few weeks of doing it or something.. I am really gonna try to do this everyday to be able to relax easier

I too have this problem, but it's getting better and better all the time, besides our mind is an untamed beast. Trying to tame it in one sitting would be like to try and stop a tsunami with straw breakers. It doesn't work that easy. It takes practice, patience and some technique. I find chanting mantras some minutes helps me get into that frame of mind

Meditation requires intensity, a continuous uninterrupted effort from your attention. If you fall asleep then you are not meditating.
Put your intensity to bring your awareness into the NOW and stay into the NOW without interruption for as long as you can. Focus on the NOW!
It is more important than the technique you use to do it. More important than observing your breath, more important than trying to control your thoughts. It's the secret key about it.

It may not prevent physical diseases but it can certainly prevent mental diseases, depression, suffering, stress. Meditation is liberating. When you bring your awareness into the NOW, you shut down your mental noise. No mental noise means no more regrets (past) or fears (future) and what's left is pure joy. Your essence.

how long do u meditate and how often a day, and as far as helping my day reallyi can meditate for over an hour and when im done il feel good and calm for about i duno 15 minutes then it all goes away and im bak to square one so how can that help me?

well, there are two things you can do. try visual meditation, it lasts longer with me. go to my profile I have my two favorite visual meditation as favorites.
Also another thing I do that helps me through my day (this is a little more similar to the law of attraction but still leaves me feeling happy and calm) is sit down with a notebook and make a list of all the best moments in your life and focus on the feeling it gives you. for example: Christmas morning, first kiss, ect.

it was awesome. but i had to do it in layers. and become aware of the universe and all of creation. of course you have to start by emptying your mind and detaching yourself from sensations of your body. but then focus on a solid object ( a desk) and imagine yourself moving through it in it. realizing they are all made up of electricity just like you.

then going further and realizing that i could move in and out of the desk and the desk was sitting on the earth then things sped up quickly once i inhabited the earth i saw the universe from the earths point of view. then wanting to go further i realized the earth was also connected to the universe like a mitochondria in a single cell organism. so i expanded my consciousness to envelop the universe. took some time but damn it was an awesome view!

haha bcuz then i can confirm if I was really in that state. Yes I wouldn't mind seeing some action but the real point is to see if something really happened. If my neighbor was excercising in my Meditative state, I can confirm it with them. Otherwise everything is just in the mind. And yes I am horny sometimes but we all have sexual urges and it would be fun to know what others are doing in bed as well lol

you know little... during meditation, your physiology gives you what is needed. If you find yourself become sleepy, it's because your body needs sleep. It is best to let that happen instead of straining to maintain a specific level of consciousness. meditation is effortless.
