He's correct in much of what he said, but he's wrong in thinking only stupid people with inferiority complexes want to be priests or politicians. There are some very compassionate people who become priests or politicians out of a desire to help others, and he is incorrect to assume they are ALL stupid. My great uncle is a priest, and he does great things for the poor, and devotes his life to helping the downtrodden in urban areas. this buddhist spoke before he thought.

Osho speaks from his experience. If you think he is being unmindful with his words, you couldn't be more wrong.

@bigalsaidso Buddha means "wise person" "enlightened" in sanskrit/hindi. He's not a buddhist, he's more of a hindu.. and he never said they're all stupid, he's just making a general comment. Of course there are exceptions; there are people like Gandhi, and ur own father, as u mentioned. He knows that... His point was that the system requires in his words, 'stupid people', and that's what it gets. ( that's not all it gets, but still that's what it needs and what it breeds, generally speaking).

don't agree with the disciple/devotee part.. No one can be a disciple of Buddha without implementing Kalama Sutta. Only one walking the Eightfold Path is a disciple of Buddha. Anyone could be able to understand, but it would not be possible for anyone to understand. Ofcourse it would be against Kalama sutta to be a disciple without first understanding even a fraction of the teaching.

No, western education liberated us from it. You have no idea how badly this "listening from the heart" was done in China. Can you imagine a class of 60 with a frantic teacher trying to rote learn them meditation ? And not tolerating any questions because they threatened the teacher's authority ? I think what he meant was that knowledge does not bring enlightenment. Knowing everything about math or knowing a language will not bring a lasting happiness. But the educational system says it does. It goes like this;1) Study hard 2) Get a nice job 3) Buy a car/house 4) Start a family = Now you are happy.

You see? He didn't have anything against attaining knowledge ( he read almost 150.000 books himself) He was against the superficial way of living your life... It's not the enlightened path.

Around 4 min. OSHO says that words are tricky things.  I would call priests/politicians dumb, not stupid. They are intelligent but body oriented; unaware of the spiritual connection behind their actions, so dumb in their arrogance they try to dumb all of us down with their NWO. The silences in between the words speak louder truths, as OSHO has also pointed out.
