  • and I am talking about the solid hard hats... now the fabric cowboy hats that clearly end up over your face is you aren't careful...

  • SERIOUSLY GET HATS!

  • Bloody head jerkers

  • 0:29 that horse is so good he just stands there with his rider <3 wish my horses would do that :p

  • 1:44 beautifull horse!

  • wow...most of the girls on the video don't even know how to ride..its pathetic. If u can't barrel race without holding on to the saddle horn you shouldn't be ridin a horse.

  • 5:26 needs teeth done by the looks of the head...

  • Holy, I know why half the people didn't get up after they fell... CAUSE THEY WHERE TRAMPLED HOLY.... Eh, still want to Barrel Race

  • BARREL RACING: Use the coolest looking bits and spurs, even thought you don't even know how they work or what they're specifically for. Kick the shit out of your horse, unless you're turning. Jerk the shit out of your horse's mouth, unless you're running home.

Seriously, what happened to this sport? The riders used to be so good...

  • @badplaceforpotatoes

Couldn't have said it better myself!!

  • at 1:40 the girl wasn't even looking

  • Ouch? Yes, the poor horses! I hope, they're fine?!

  • OMG! The girls whose hat kept getting in front of her face was cringe worthy!!!!!

  • Die armen Pferde. Denen wird so dermaßen in den Bauch getreten :'(((((

  • full respect to barrel racers- obviously its hard. but some of these people... seriously? control your horse for the sake of his and ur own safety.

  • most of these people really can't ride - or is that just barrel racing?

  • You know, they do make helments that look like cowboy hats. Its true! So, if you're afraid you'll look stupid for wearing a helmet (which you wont, you'll just look like you care about not getting hurt), then just get the cowboy hat/helmet. Problem solved!

  • Oh god, 0:26 is freaking brutal!!!

  • some of the horses did seem to stop when their riders fell, just looked a bit confused about what was going on. I dont like the massive amounts of face yanking =/ Figures the only horse to stop too was the one that had a child. Under age kids really should be required to wear a helmet. The halloween riders were pretty neat costume wise though.

  • You can see that alot of the accidents are caused by the hat, YA NEED TO WEAR A HELMENT< NOT A COWBOY HAT!!! And also the riders hav other faults.

  • Do people just not have a relationship with their horses?? LIKE REALLY

i have fallen off my horse a number of times and he will stand there.... and wait, he knows he was bad or being stupid but never once would he run away or act like those horses even if we were galloping and he bucked and i fell off he would come back and stand with me. these people

  • this is whats going through a horse's mind when their rider dumps

*YAYY I got rid of the bad lady who didn't put my saddle on right or doesn't know how to ride me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!*

  • wow. this reminds me how many people pretend to know how to ride!

  • should'nt they be wearing a helmet?

  • @Brittneyjlong Helmets are over rated, besides ,you should be a good enough to run with the big dogs or stay with the puppys in the not so fast class. Also a good rider learns to stay on when stuff like this happens. I'm not blaming the horse or rider (even know some are bad). And all the horses that were running away shouldn't do that, you should have a bond strong enough that the horse trys to pick you off the ground.

  • @MsHorsecrazy97 Helmets save lives, but helmets are a thing of choice. It depends, I know definitely in most cases a good horse with a strong bond to the owner should stop the second their rider hits the ground. But I think barrel racers are trained to run as fast as they can to the in gate so that's most likely their first instinct. meh. These riders still obviously didn't have any type of strong bond.

  • Comment removed

  • if youre going to put your child on a horse A. teach them to ride and B. PUT A HELMET ON THEM.

  • @Brittneyjlong I'm going to teach my daughter to ride my horse when she turns 5, I'll make sure she has a helment on, but if I enter her into a barrel race, she will not have a helment on. She will have duct tape, a brace, then a helment haha. I'm not letting my little girl get hurt.

  • Really aweful riding right here, no, I wont even call this riding, just bunch of kicking, hitting, jerking and pulling. Some of the clips were hilarious though, poor horses, so bad riders. cha cha

  • If I ever fell like that, with the horse, i'd pop up whether I was hurt or not to see if the horse is okay.

  • LOL wow it is very clear here that most of these riders need a bit more training before they go out in the competition arena. EVERY sport with a horse is dangereous, why just dog on barrel racers, its not just about chasing cans it take a lot of time, patience, determination and hard work. I am a barrel racer and its hard to make it to the top and its very competitive. I have also done english showing and western showing, jumping etc. ITS all hard no matter what, so try it before you dog on it!

  • Pretty sloppy riding on some of them...

  • if thaws horses bucked the riders would come right off. all they know how to do is pull a horse and run around barrels

  • what makes me sad is that once the rider is off the horses just run for their lives. (yes i know all forms of riding are hard)

  • @HorseTales101 they are not running for their lives, they are running because that is what they are TRAINED to do. If you knew anything about any type of horse racing you would know that.

  • @brbug1 im sorry :-/

  • @brbug1 ok no need to be so rude about it. It was an honest mistake. Chill out.

  • @HorseTales101 they are trained to do that

  • gnorant people that make negative comments give barrel racers bad reputations. barrel racers love and care about their horses. just because this video has some people who don't belong on a horse doesn't mean ALL barrel racers don't know how to ride. If you do not barrel race or have not ever watched some PROFESSIONAL barrel racers you do not need to be saying anything about barrel racers as a whole. Its not about getting on andy going fast and jerking your horses face around.

  • If you ride like that, you deserve to get stepped on or kicked by your poor horse. Barrel racing is tough on the horses legs, mouth and their backs. If these people knew how to ride properly their horses might go a little faster.

  • that person at 0.27 could be really hurt, I mean that horse was on top of her!! :O

  • Geez I'm surely going to hell because I laughed my ass off all through this. I know it's wrong, I just couldn't help it.

  • Wow those morons need riding instruction. I hope they get bucked off or fall every time they ride so they can figure out how stupid they are. HELLOOO?!?!? that bit is in the horses MOUTH people

  • I will never barrell race. It's just not worth risking my horses life and mine. It is to reckless and dangerous. I believe horses are to precious to have tobe put because someone felt like runnin' around a couple barrels.

  • Did anyone wear a helmet? I'm new to horses, but honestly a LOT of the arenas looked like they had poor..dirt(?) or whatever you want to call it...it looked like crap basically. I think most, if not all accidents are the rider's faults. In my opinion, it should be the rider who is supposed be experienced, and know what to do to keep your horse safe. Whether that be balance, judging the height of a jump, or whatever else. I feel bad for these horses, and it's sadder when people blame them.

  • @Kitsunegirl1212 a you do not wear helmets in western riding B) the Dirt is fine c) The horse just lost his footing D) It is not allways the riders Faullt E) when the horses fall over jumps it is the horse being lazy f) I am not blaming the horse necessarily but many fall s or cause by the horses tripping and then the rider losses balance then the horses fall so do not blam eather horse or rider cause even if you are experiences accidents still happen and that is what flling off is

  • It is also apparent in some of these clips that the arena's have very poor footing for the horses to turn properly...

  • I used to enjoy barrel racing. I feel to many of these "barrel horses" have had their minds blown, are over bitted and couldn't balance themselfs properly on a straigh line! The worst part about it is the equally terrible riders bouncing on their horses back, not sitting to the outside, getting in their horses way and yanking the hell out of their horses moulths. Barrel racing takes SKILL and TEAMWORK for horse and rider, not a "Yee-haw!" attitude. Go back to the basics, then worry about speed.

  • @ilovemyappy14 most barrel horses love to barrel race! just not these ones...thats like saying a jumping horse doesnt want to jump. if it didnt want to, it wouldnt. if a barrel horse didnt want to barrel race, it wouldnt. a little metal piece in their mouth wouldnt stop them

  • I WOULD LIKE TO GIVE A RIBBON TO EVERY HORSE THAT THREW THE RETARD RIDER TO THE DIRT, AND THE ONES THAT FACE STOMPED THIER STUPID ASSES GET A GOLD STAR TOO. Only thing I wish....is that more of you NON HORSEMANSHIP riders landed on your head....SNAPPING YOUR NECK YOU SHITBAGS

  • notice how the horse runs away from them...

  • i guess that's what they get for yanking on the horse's mouth like that.

  • not the horses fault. they are just being told what the rider wants n mistakes happen

  • i know its western, i know its their 'thing' to wear cowboy & cowgirl hats, but with these sort of accidents happening at almost EVERY event, it should be made a regulation for them to wear helemts.

  • Geesh, half of these people had terrible seats! A slight deviation from the path and boop! there goes rider! People care about winning more than their horse's safety and well being, which is why I quit barrel racing.

  • its mostly the peoples fault, i mean Sometimes they lose footing in uneven ground, still not the horses fault.

  • ALWAYS WEAR A HELMET!

  • Ok I just fell in love with how the kid riding in the spiderman costume did the spidey symbol as he exited the arena. xD

  • these riders are clearly people that have no experience barrel racing. plus they are yanking on the horses rein. so i agree with rosycheeks44 and katphoti. its very dangerous going on a trained barrel horse without any barrel racing training.

  • :DD hilarious. ok, there was many bad falls etc, but the rider 3:10 - 3:22 was quite pro ;) and the kids, omg!

  • Some people look like they ate too many burgers...;-)

  • It seems like a lot of these riders fell off simply because the horse rapidly slowed down to turn....they should be expecting that, right? They know they're barrel racing, right? And the one where the horse's bridle got pulled off? Did he even check his tack before doing that?

Some of these look like the horse just had enough man-handling, I don't blame them. If someone was slamming around on my back and yanking on my mouth and furiously pounding my sides with spurs I'd get rid of 'em too.

  • I don't understand why these riders don't wear helmets. I do 3-day eventing and we certainly do dangerous things like this, some even more so because we're 6+ feet off the ground sometimes, but the safety of the horse and rider are always top priority. I don't have much experience with any type of western discipline, but the emphasis on safety has never been apparent to me.

  • after seeing this... you wonder why they don't ride with helmets....

  • hat in the face i can't see stupid people i loled alot on the falls

  • half of these riders don't even know HOW to ride. They think galloping around at full speed like a retard qualifies them as riders. They all pull on the horse's mouth too much, won't sit down at all, and jerking the horses face. I bet that they make their horse's mouth bleed sometime!

  • Acouple of things here... 1)STUPID PEOPLE DONT NEED TO BUY THEIR 5-10 YEAR OLD KIDS HUGE HORSES. LITTLE 40 POUND KIDS CANT CONTROL A 1500+ POUND HORSE IF SOMTHING GOES WRONG, NO MATTER HOW GOOD AND CALM AND BROKE THE HORSE IS. 2) EVERY STINKING PERSON IN THIS VIDEO THAT FELL DIDNT HAVE LIFE SAVING BREAK AWAY STIRRUPS 3) EVERY FRIGGIN PERSON THAT FELL WERE YANKING THEIR FULL WEIGHT INTO THE HORSES MOUTH LIKE IT WAS A TUG OF WAR CONTEST

  • (Continued) 4) EVERY STUPID PERSON THAT FELL OR LOST THIER BALANCE THINK ITS GONNA MAKE THEIR HORSE GO FASTER IF THEY KICK SO HARD THEY BOUNCE. 5) EVERY PERSON WHOS HORSE FELL THOUGHT THAT IF THEY LEANED EVERY STINKIN POUND OF THEIR BODY INTO THE HORSES MOUTH AND THEN THROW THEIR WEIGHT THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION IN WHICH THEY TURN, THAT THEIR HORSE WOULD TURN SHARPER.6) A WORLD CHAMPION BARREL RACER TOLD ME TO NEVER PULL BACK ON A HORSES MOUTH SO ITS OPEN, ESPECIALLY WHEN U WANT THE HORSE TO MOVE!

  • As a person that rodeos allot I have to say that horses fall all the time. Most horses have metal shoes on so the shoes slid on the soil therefor the horses slip and fall. Most of the girls are flying out of their seat because they are not sitting there butt in the saddle. just like every sport accidents happen. And trust me this is anything compared with what else can happen.

  • hahah 1:29!!!!!!!!

  • Some of these I want to say this is what happens when you only do barrel racing with your horse. I've seen quite a few people at one of the places I ride at that when they have shows you see the horse taken out of its stall tack them up run them, then throw them back in the stall. This is why I try to keep my well rounded with speed/action, and then cross country trail blazing. I like to keep them thinking and let them know that just because my foot is in the stirrup doesn't mean we have to GO

  • Poor horses!!! I'm glad the riders came off maybe that could knock some sense into them!!

  • around 5:25 seconds, good lord! This girl needs to get out of her horses mouth! Or atleast ask him/her to bring the head down and get him/her used to it and maybe the horse will barrel race better!

  • @GypsyDoodleGirl Gosh I looked at that girl and she would not stop and it looked like she didn't have a clue why her horse kept his head so high!!

  • poor horses

  • Can I use some of these clips please? :)

  • Ok, guy in the spiderman costume. My new fav. :D

  • 0:25 ouch . . .

  • What I can see the riders needs mucht more balance then what they have. It's not just the fast riding that needs in this sports, or the hole riding sport because if you don't have the balance the riding dosen't go well. When you hawe bad balance the horse get's it to. Like every trainer I went to they always ask about your balance.

(Sorry for my spelling, not qiuet sure on all the word. p.s. I'm from Sweden D.s.)

  • Good Lord, 5:25 needs to get out of her horse's mouth! He'd go a lot better if she did!

  • It's quite clear that a lot of the accidents are the riders' fault. Hauling on the horses' faces, not sitting deep in the saddle, and jerking them around--the poor horses lose their balance and fall half the time, and the other half the rider comes off. I find that some barrel riders need to take basic riding lessons--a lot of them just jump on a horse and go without any basic knowledge.

  • @katphoti I find that this happens in EVERY discipline...saw a lot of the same crap at hunter/jumper, cross country and endurance races...

  • @SarahVstheClown Yeah, I see that at lower level riding in other disciplines, too. I get tired of people riding with their hands instead of learning how to ride with their whole body.

  • @katphoti Exactly! I started out with western pleasure/horsemanship and then went to endurance, then hunter/jumper and finally found barrel racing. It's all I do now. But I'm so glad that I started with pleasure and hunter because I have such a solid form and even in the craziness that goes on in barrel racing, I ride with my legs and can gallop my horse without giving their mouths hell. And I know plenty of other riders that are jsut like me. Not all barrel racers are idiots.

  • @katphoti i so agree with you i hate when people blame the horse.

  • Seems like some of these girls need to start wearing helmets. 00:46 could have used one.

  • it makes me laugh when some of these girls think they can ride the bigger faster horses. to become someone you need to start small and get big. Like when the girl flew in front of the saddle.. its cause the horse has to much power for her and shes in over her head.

  • 0:26 is she dead ?

  • 0:26 is she dead ?

  • There's a reason they invented helmets!

  • some of these people are just plain dumb

  • 3:19 classic bronc haha

  • these people need to learn to hold on OMG!!!!!

  • I think you can better ride for fun than for win

  • LOL!! 3:04 the horse just went "WHOOPS! I'm sitting on the ground. Alright I'm okay now!" xD

  • i were mine all the time i dnt care wether it goes with the cowgirl outfitor not

  • Its western riding they hardly were helments

  • Hey, did you notice how the lady at 1:35 -- her hat kept falling in her face. That was comic. She did good, though.

And at 1:54, when the rider falls off her horse, he just keeps running the barrels and finishes. "Hey, where did you go?" Really enjoyed the video.

Nutz to all you folks with negative comments.

  • i can't watch this, why aren't these people wearing god damn helmets! this is ridiculous! :/

  • 3:22 girl deff stayed on for the full 8 (;

  • hahaha the horse at 2:44 was just like "la la la la la, i like skipping, cuz im a pretty pony. oh, wait, where'd ya go?"

  • One of the most common mistakes in staying in their mouths when they're trying to turn. Come on.. basics people! And not checking them before the turn. ey.

  • I swear some of these people don't need to be riding! I see a few cases where the horses Know more than the rider - thank God for the children on them!

  • @suicideXembrace I totally agree with you!!! I dont get why people barrel race! Some of the riders are good when you get to the top of barrel racing, but people just need to learn to ride good first! Im not talking about all barrel racers so dont get to mad. The horses dont look happy at all even if they dont fall. All disciplines have there bad moments but barrel racing I just cant stand. So if you get mad at me oh well.

  • @HunterJumperMorgan Have you ever tried barrel racing? Have you ever seen an ACTUAL barrel horse, and not just these fucking morons on this video? My friends and I take around 300 random pictures at every show we go to and I can guarantee that none of the horses look like they're not enjoying what they're doing. I actually started with western pleasure, went to hunter jumper, then to endurance, back to hunter jumper and I've finally landed in the barrel racing world...because I got sick of seein

  • @HunterJumperMorgan sour horses that hated their job. So until you go to an actual barrel show instead of watching a little short 6 minute video of the stupid hillbilly fucks that try to barrel race instead of watching the THOUSANDS of runs that are correctly done EVERY DAY shut the fuck up and learn a little more about horses.

  • @SarahVstheClown Yes I have been to a barrel racing show and worked with barrel racing horses. Im not saying all barrel racers are bad im saying some are. I agree these horses are sour. Just because my screen name is HunterJumperMorgan doesnt mean I dont know anything about western riding. My best friend ever is a barrel racer! So dont get upset over one little commet. I have ridden barrel horses before and they love there job but some barrel horses dont like it.

  • @SarahVstheClown Plus I work at a barn and go to Regional shows so I think I know a lot about horses.

  • @SarahVstheClown One more thing look at katphoti's commet I agree with her and so do most people. Some people just need to take more basic lessons.

  • @HunterJumperMorgan I don't get why the finger is being pointed at barrel racer's. I've seen some pretty idiotic hunter's and endurance people too...and likewise, I've been to state for barrels and got rather far with endurance. I've been riding for 16 years. I've dabbled in most every discipline. I've seen idiots in EVERY event.

  • @SarahVstheClown I agree with you completely. There are always going to be idiots in every discipline. I dislike some Saddlebreds so its not just barrel racing I dislike. Some people tell me Saddleseat and Morgans are mean and people do idiotic things in saddleseat also. I do get why you got mad at me and I was stupid to say what I did. Like I said I have done barrels and poles. I just think that some people need to take more basic lessons in barrel racing & other events.

  • @HunterJumperMorgan Likewise, sorry for getting so sour, but it can be easy to do when all I hear is negative crap about barrel racing. I would get absolutely chewed OUT if my butt left the saddle during a run and came slamming back down onto my horse. Same with my hands...if they come up and pop the horse in the mouth, I'm gonna hear about it for the next month from my instructor. And everyone I ride with is given the same treatment.

  • the horse at 3:36 is really pretty! i want that horse. poor horses otherwise

  • haha you think that's weird! Try running barrels with DRAFT HORSES!!! Gosh its fun!! But it sure looks pretty silly!

  • 0:33 was awesome riding =O

  • @TheBanana1226 I meant 0:36

  • After watching this, I'm soooooo glad I've never had an accident like those or my horse has ever been hurt from it

  • Whoever was riding at 3:19 and 3:20 is hellafied good at holding on cuz for a second there barrel racing turned itno a bucking bronc contest

  • that horse at 3:35 was awesome! I have never seen a horse with those colorations before

  • I love barrel racing, but i will stop if my horse falls idc if i get hurt i only care about my horse

  • that is why i allways teach my horses to STOP when someone or somthing falls off them. i just set an old loose saddle on them and keep moveing untill it falls off them. and then i make them stop right where it fell. that way you dont get trampled if you fall.

  • tha chick in the red tank top smacked herself in the face with her whip. Ouch.

  • everyone under 18 shouldnt be allowed to start without a helmet!

  • I hate barrel racing.

  • Im just sayyin but most of the videos i see of these accidents look like their at the same place0.o

  • they are all spookin or shyin away at the wall

  • 3:39 why didnt that CHILD have a helmet?! I'm a trainer in more than one equestrian sport and there is never a good reason for a minor not to wear a helmet.

  • at 0:36 what the heck is this girl doing she is horrible!

  • there was a lot of good riding (before fall) but there also was a TON of horrible riding

  • Sorry.. but at 2:47 .. the horse kinda kicks up like 'haha you fell' xD Ouch though.. ive done that :/

  • Wear a helmet people, especially these kids!!! You have kids doing barrels and flipping helmets??? I under stand it's normal in barrel racing but come on. Safety first, always!!

  • wow this is a case of bad riders lol but hey some people think this sport is easy and i do western and english

  • @FinnMcMissilefan Im not jealouse at all I DONT WANNA DIE!

  • @FinnMcMissilefan @FinnMcMissilefan what did you call me im am NOOTT A RICH B*ITCH!!!!!! OR SNOBBY! jezz

  • FinnMcMissilefan - Western and English are both great, but to put a damper on "Western Is Better" how many western horses do you know that go to Olympia and jump over 5ft?

Maybe it's just me, but If western is so much better than english, why is it that our horses dont often fall over because their riders make them run rouund barrels?

  • @AmiLUVSHerPony And how many jumpers taking 5 ft fences do you know that can pole bend the way western horses do? It's all what horses are trained specifically for. Theres no english is better than western or any of that. Every discipline has there own qualifications that are required for it to be safely carried out. End of story.

  • This is why barrel racing is stupid (In my opinion), as the riders turn the horses way too tight and thats is why the trip/slip/fall and it can cause so much harm to the horses and the riders.

  • barrel racing is stupid! thumbs up if you think so! ENGLISH IS BETTER!!

  • thats why they make helmets

  • 1:05 was pole bending. xD

LOL, anyway, this was...your right, gone wrong. Some people over-correct the horse at the barrel too much. Still others need to learn how to freaking ride. And stay on. Its more than pointing a horse at a barrel and hoping for the best. Barrel racing, western riding, ANY riding, whenther western or english, is about BEING with the horse, helping him along, and really RIDING. Riding is about horsemanship, the passion if being with the horse and loving what you do.

  • I stopped watching the vieo at 0:18...I HATE TIE DOWNS! They are one of the worst things to put on your horse! Maybe if you trained your horse then u wouldnt have to use them...UGH! some people D:<

  • oh my fucking good.... this is terrible.... The riders have earned nothing Nader, who treated his horse so terrible, because such a stupid sport that deserves everything ... violently that the horses around in the mouth, the tug and the spores can be dropped ... ride, no matter what kind western, jumping or dressage ... or leisure,,,,, is a team sport between horse and rider ..... wi terrible times is simply the video!... UGH UGH UGH UGH !!!

  • YOUR NOT SUPPOSE TO LEAN INTO THE BARREL YOU LEAN AWAY TO HELP BALANCE THE HORSE!!!!..thats why horses fall and thats why horses throw them off!!!! IDIOTS!!! its not the horses its the riders!!!!!!!

  • 1:20 i did the same the but fell off after

  • ow and lol at 0:27!

  • lose the damn cowboy hats and wear helmets

  • I love when the horse just stands there when the person falls off such a good horse for not running away and freaking out :)

  • The rider at 3:08. A bad rider but I got to give him credit for staying on through that.

  • its like all at the same 3 arenas creepy

  • its like all at the same 2 arenas creepy

  • @iloveashar9 i was thinking the EXACT same thing.. i wanna know where it is so i don't try and run there (;

  • @wranglerbabe49 lol rightt ,now i wanna know too hahaha

  • if you teach your horse not to stop or slow down on the course a Little bump will not slow him down but its so fun to go fast

  • one of the scarriest things is when u loose ur reigns

  • These riders deserve all they get. Let me whip and kick them and yank them in the mouth.

  • And that's why fat people shouldn't ride LOL I barrel race, it's always better to teach your own horse these kind of things instead of paying someone else to train them something as easy as this...Some people are seriously so stupid when it comes to horses... R-TARDS!

  • Barrel Racing is a silly joke. The girls who participate are obviously craving for attention. I prefer English riding. Check out the FAT LARD at 2:42.

  • Comment removed

  • I hate it how they just rally up their horses, so much that they can't control them, let alone ride them well.

  • 1:27 EPIC FAIL

  • @zhorse000 They aren't galloping, they're cantering really fast

    N O O B

  • @pistol061 I so agree, there are a bunch of moments in this video where you can tell that something was wrong and the rider ignored it or didn't notice which then led to the fall. Its not just about speed, its about teamwork, and understanding when to pull up and sacrifice a second for the sake of your horse. A lot of these women looked inexperienced, with lazy seats(and thats being nice), and not a good understanding of the animal they were on.

  • 3:36 is a good horse!! He actually knew to stand still so he wouldnt step on her... lucky girl..
