  • Bible=//=Literal word of God. If anything, the Bible is merely a catalogue of mankind's early thoughts and relationship with God. There are some very good moral lessons in it, undoubtably. But there are parts which include brutality and a vengeful, hateful God. There were multiple writers (hundreds) for all the collected books in the Biblical canon. There's no feasible way they were divinely inspired. Rush is just another fanatic/hypocrite that uses the Bible for his own means. He's projecting.

  • @DasherFlame9 You're ignorance is stunning.

  • Uh, dude. HE was talking to that one person who needed to hear WHAT IT TAKES TO ENTER THE KINGDOM OF HEAV EN. Dude. And if HE does take it all, then HE gives it back with INTEREST. And then some. Dude.

  • See you all in hell, since we all have to die with nothing in order to get into heaven. Oh wait, neither exist. Phew.

  • @TheCrookedTimber Right which is what Rush Limbaugh and the right teach. It's odd to me that people who take the gospels seriously are painted as social gospel theologians. Yes Jesus wanted a change of heart but he demanded people's actions to follow individually and in a society. This whole idea about a personal relationship with Jesus and celebrated individualistic selfishness the right wingers parade on is serious cherry picking of the Bible to foster their ego and importance.

  • @TheCrookedTimber Very true, except I don't admire his intentions a whole lot or his religious views. Jesus didn't really promote a political system, so what Lawrence says is kind of misguided. He should be talking about individualism and how that isn't compatible with Christianity. Whether we feed the poor by a tax bracket under a socialist society or we feed the poor out of the will of our hearts in a extremely capitalist libertarian society, both options fulfill that command.

  • Love this! Amen

  • The bible has become a tool for the greedy to manipulate the masses. If you are someone who is Christian, and you believe in the bible and you are a good person then I'm very happy for you and would like to know you.If you are a politician and twist the words to mean whatever you want, well then your pond scum and you will be fish food soon!Love your neighbor, don't steal all his money.

  • Every Christian I have ever known has cherrypicked the parts of the Bible they want to follow and swept the rest under carpet. I do not think I will ever have an intelligent conversation about the Bible with a Christian.

  • I'm not a christian but i feel sorry for Christ by how his 'followers' twisted his words and wage wars and cause harm.

  • What would Jesus take? He was a giver and would take nothing! Jesus also said to render to Caesar and to God what is due! Jesus was for income tax! What he did not say was how much tax if fair? This will always be controversial! Giving to God is 10 percent of your income as a minimum! Jesus also said we will always have the poor with us! Rich people create jobs with buisness endeavors. Socialist states become bankrupt because they take from the rich and everybody ends up poor! James Sasse.

  • @indiajesuslovesyou "Rich people create jobs"

So does the government. The problem is money and power corrupts. Rich people who control through monopolies or government screw the rest of us. Liberals and conservatives will fight all day about cases where they think their system works but ultimately capitalism is always stronger but not as humanitarian and socialism is more humanitarian but not as economical. I beg you to show me some examples to differ.

  • 1:20 "Facts and contradictory evidence is getting in the way of my political views, so I'd better twist the facts until they agree with me."

  • Second richest person in the world. Donated over $26 billion to charity. Bill Gates is GOOD WITHOUT GOD.

Third richest person in the world. Pledged to give 99% of his wealth to charity. Warren Buffet is GOOD WITHOUT GOD.

The wealthiest evangelical christian in the world has donated almost nothing in his entire career, and utilizes slave labor in a diamond mine in South Africa. Pat Robertson is a cruel heartless man.

  • BIBALITY!

  • Oh shit. Rush got fucking shut down.

  • If Limbaugh was smart he'd understand that "Liberalism" and "Socialism" are incompatible with each other and not interchangeable.

  • @orko1995 You're right the two ideas are definitely not the same thing, but they can be compatible, if not taken to extreme. Most Northern European countries are economically socialistic, while maintaining social liberalism.

  • @orko1995

I think you're confusing socialism and communism.

  • whatever happened about "render unto caesar"?

  • @jddrewes Jesus said to them, “Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.” And they marveled at him.

  • @claybfx

So... What things are Caesar's and what things are God's?

  • @ThirstyJon It doesn't matter, the bible is full of shit anyway LOL

  • Well done. Now if those fuck-faces that subscribe to the prosperity gospel would actually fucking read the bible, maybe they'd learn a thing or two.

  • Well done, beesleeper. I am in complete agreement. No irony, no sarcasm. I'm glad you spoke up. Keep it going. A true attack that wlll be listened to is pure ridicule, which is all these freaks deserve. Sharpen your words, and keep it going. I have your back.

  • Obese, racist JUNKIE Rush once said "some people are born to be slaves."

So , do you fucking Republican pieces of shit think he was talking about you ?

Or are you the special master race? The illiterate, low IQ, low income, Bible-sucking, 400lb, donut-stuffing, NASCAR-watching, trailer-living, Republican voting master race ?

Nietzsche's Übermensch, you just happen to work at the Exxon station>?

All us liberals are just TERRIFIED of your superiority and supremacy.

  • I got the idea that when Jesus was making these statements to sell everything and give to the poor that the final judgment was coming soon ("the Kingdom of God is at hand") and He warned that his current generation would not pass away before the final judgment would occur, so these speeches were apocalyptic. And --if taken literally-- are proven false since the second coming did not happen within 40 years of Jesus' resurrection. That is the greatest problem I have with what was written.

  • Lawrence O'Donnell 2016

  • Jesus also said "Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's". Doesn't exactly gibe with right-wingers' anti-government stance, does it?

  • wow, splicedenergy...how sad you have such energy and rage over

Someone who loves you more than you can know. Be blessed!

  • These two guys are "proof-texting"...citing Scripture to support their points. Jesus didn't mandate anything except to love the Lord God with all our being, and our neighbor as ourselves. That Agape love leads to feeding, clothing, visiting the poor. {He also said, the poor you will always have with you. } Beyond that, he spoke the Truth (he is the Truth) so that in receiving it, people would be transformed from the inside out.

  • @lvngwtr There is not a shred of evidence that jesus even fucking was ever a real person. Bite that and choke on it.

  • @lvngwtr

Jesus mandated quite a lot, namely to obey the commandments, give to the poor, preach the Gospel to all people for the Kingdom of God is at hand. He was blatantly hostile to greedy people, calling them hypocrites and phony as white-washed sepulchers (tombs), pleasing on the outside, but filled with filth and corruption. Such people will probably be punished in hell for all eternity for their vicious, uncharitable behavior. Lots of so-called Christians pick and choose what to follow.

  • you must be reminded that not all who follow Jesus are called to be disciples.

  • you must be reminded that not all who follow Jesus are called to be apostles.

  • If you missed my point, it is that Jesus preached about individual hearts not social structures. In fact, take a look at how he dealt with the social structures of righteousness that the pharisees had established, which allowed them to be "whitewashed tombs" with unchanged hearts. Calling the religious leaders of the day "vipers" was pretty nutty, granted.

  • @WPandP There is not a shred of evidence that jesus even fucking was ever a real person. Bite that and choke on it.

  • I hate it when people misuse Scripture to present their view. Jesus taught balance. they both read the Scriptures, but they both took Scriptures out of context! It is the love of, not the possession of money that is sinful. When we cant part with something or someone or place so much importance on it, it becomes our "god". You cant give to the poor w/o money, but greed is idolatry. Jesus condemned the rich if they were greedy, but blessed those who used $ for the Kingdom of God to help others.

  • @therevrend1951 you just tookscripture and missused it homie

  • @therevrend1951 Jesus didnt exist get a clue

  • "When did we see you hungry or naked or poor and helped you?" And he answered, saying "When you contributed your earnings as taxes to support a welfare state that clothes, shelters, and feeds me, so that you don't have to think about it or do anything real yourself - as long as you set up a social system of caring then your individual hearts won't matter much."

  • @WPandP its fun to make up jesus quotes to back your nutty libertarian ideology lol.

  • @2010GOP There isn't any way you aren't just a troll, but anyhow... "render unto Caesar what is Caesar's"

  • Limpballs is the biggest POS on the planet...period.

  • Luke 19: 27 But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay [them] before me.

  • You have GOT to be kidding!!

Jesus taught to give w/your heart -- and to where an individual heart leads. He never once told His Disciples to go out & confiscate from others. By the way, every study shows Conservatives give more to charities than any other ideological group.

And Hey Lawrence! I think you forgot a scripture: "A man who won't work shouldn't eat". I think you forgot about that whole 10% thingy too.

  • To "give" all, "sell" all, "give up" everything- are things we should do ourselves. We are to accept our personal responsibility to give. In fact, we are asked to give from the first fruits (before taxes are "taken"). It is our responsibility to give generously, but we are not called to allow others (or govt) to take from us. Jesus would ask us to "give" according to our ability to pay - Jesus would not "take" according to any standard. LO- "Jesus would be cool with a 39.6% tax bracket." Really?

  • I always found it funny that conservative Americans act as if the values they want for America are somehow Christian values.

Christianity and capitalism are very different things. If America is capitalist then it can never truely be a christian nation. Christianity, as a religion has a very socialist ideology.

  • @Silentsam7532: Sorry pal ~ read the Bible. Jesus promoted capitalism & investments. Read the investment parables for starters.

Please tell us where Jesus told His Disciples to go out & confiscate from others.

Jesus taught to give where one's own heart leads. Who are you to say that instead of donating to my local homeless shelter, I should give that extra % to the Government to fund Harry Reid's "Cowboy Poetry" and abortions?

  • @2010GOP Did you even listen to the video? Do you know anything about Christian history? No one said go confiscate, the bible said to give away your own things. That is what is uncapitalist.

The first Christians put all their money together to help them all equally. What about that sounds capitalist to you?

No one claims the bible said to go confiscate things. It is being said that the bible supports giving what you have to help others.

  • @Silentsam7532 you are right, but not by giving all you have to the government....the most inefficient entity in history. Jesus preached charity. O'donnel is trying to equate charity with government, which is a horrible argument

  • @morrib89 This guy was not saying that people should give everything to government. All O'Donnel is saying is that capitalism and christianity don't mix well. O'Donnel never said where to give away the money, just said that a proper christian would always give away their possesions or sell them and give the money to the community.

The first christians put all their money in a community pot. That was almost the same as taxes and socialism.

  • @Silentsam7532 he says that jesus would take 100%....the key word is take...taking is not charity. give all you have, whether to government or charity is one thing.....taking is another.

  • @morrib89 Well it was Rush who decided to use the term what would jesus take. He is only using the word that Rush was using.

The bible never says give some, it says give all. People are free to take it how they want of course. This is all that O'Donnel is saying.

Only those who don't read the bible and take what is actually written on faith always make mistakes as to what christianity is even about.

  • @morrib89 There is not a shred of evidence that jesus even fucking was ever a real person. Bite that and choke on it.too

  • WOW!

I didn't even finish the video before my last comment...

Rush just got PWND! Not that it's hard to pwn Rush, but holy shit, he got fucking bitch slapped right in his fat face!

As much as I HATE rush, I'm still glad he doesn't have to suffer for eternity because he's a worthless piece of shit in this life.

You better count yourself lucky that hell isn't real Rush...

    Deffinetly fav'd this vid!

  • @Zentz29: No, you're just so insanely ignorant that you bought it.

  • @2010GOP I love it when idiots do what you did with your reply.

You claim that I'm the ignorant one, but can't explain why. Educate yourself ya bum...

  • @2010GOP Why am I "insanely ignorant"?

You said it....can you explain why it's true? What am I ignorant of ya moron?

I'm probably ignorant of the level of your stupidity..... Is that what you meant?

LMAO...you're what's wrong with the world you idiot. I just wish you ould understand that....

  • @2010GOP You made the claim the I'm "ignorant"...

Can you back it up or not...you loser?

Don't challenge people unless you have a good reason to.

    Why am I ignorant? moron...

    Please exoplain

  • @Zentz29

You're completely ignorant of what Jesus would take, as is Mr. O'Donnell. Jesus would take nothing.

And by the way, Hell is very real, and you're in danger of ending up there.

  • @TheELAshley The hell you believe in is just as real as the one muslims believe in.

Fuck off until you can give me a good reason to believe you.

If your god sends people to suffer for eternity simply because they don't believe in him, your god is a worthless piece of shit.

Do you have a good reason or not? Troll...

  • @Zentz29 Nothing you'll listen to. Your mind is made up. Which is sad.

Nope, not a troll, I have neither interest nor desire to attack you in any way. Just because you don't believe there's a hell, doesn't mean it's not there. I could choose to not believe in gravity, but moments after stepping off a cliff I'd be abruptly persuaded, and without remedy.

  • @TheELAshley I will listen to anything you say and decide wether or not it makes sense. The reason you don't want to talk about is because you don't have good reasons to believe it.

Just because you believe in hell doesn't mean it there.

Gravity can be shown to people, can hell, or god?

You know you believe what you do, but cannot give reason why you do. THAT is why you don't want to talk about it.

Let me know when you grow up. Maybe we can have a decent conversation...

  • Lying for Rush's audience is kind of like the miracle of transubstantiation, if Rush says it, it's true. Fact checking is the work of the devil. We don't need no facts, we believe!

  • LMAO!

    WWJD?

What a pointless question since EVERY christian has thier OWN idea of what Jebus would do.

  • this is a version of Christianity I could follow.

  • As a conservative voter, Rush is a greedy, overbearing, pill popper who wants the country to “do as he says, not as he does” if he really wanted the best for this country he would shut up and sit down.

  • seems that rush doesn't know the bible very well. and his staff either. wonder who got fired today for letting that slip by? love it when rush out his own stupidity.

  • The government is not "The Poor". The church treasury is not "the government." This guy isn't much better at this than Rush is.

  • @skmarden Jesus' teachings had an emphasis on helping the poor, sick, and downtrodden. No one is in a better position than the government to do that, and everyone who pays taxes can have a share of that giving, and receive God's grace. The focus then needs to be on making sure the money gets alotted properly and fairly, to those who need it most. Private churches can help too of course but churches cannot give tax breaks or health insurance.

  • The government is not "The Poor". The church treasury is not "the government." This guy isn't any better at this than Rush is.

  • The government is not "The Poor".

  • Way to go, Lawrence!

  • Even though tax collectors were hated, Jesus encouraged his followers to pay their taxes.

  • ~“Feeling”~ ~“led”~ almost ~“compelled”~ to ~“write”~ my ~“book”~(LOVEGODISLOVEdotORG)~“thusly”~ I ~“discovered”~ a ~“77”~ ~“alignment”~ of ~“seven...”~'s ~“hidden”~ in the book of ~“Revelation”~! • Now you know why their are 15,000 denominations of the Christian religion in the United States, because they all like to interpret it differently too match their own needs. Just ask Rush!!!!!!!

  • @colourmegone oh great, you left me with nothing to say, 'cuz you said it so well.

  • This is so excellent!!! Go Lawrence.

  • I am so happy to see the words of Jesus Christ brought forward through the Gospel of Mark, although the people who need to hear these words will not hear it or if they do they will just pooh pooh it away.

  • Jesus is FAKE.... Stop acting like he wasn't

  • I'm proud to have this kind of substance on the liberal side of the aisle. O'Donnell is Roman Catholic and a liberal and doesn't hesitate to say the two must be seperate in government.

    Nice rush takedown sir...

    'A tip of me hat'

  • Given that Jesus was a poor carpenter turned preacher, I don't think matters of government occupied his mind much...

  • They're overburdened when they're no longer richer than the average citizen. Or maybe they're just equal.

  • and yet they line up like a herd of cattle headed for the milk barn to listen to his crap... must be the release of hate.. kinda like a good belch haha.. what a pig! (50 Mil a year) haha.. only in America!

  • what kind of fool listens to this "guy"?

  • @49cop which guy?

  • *SMACKDOWN* of a self-righteous hypocrite!

Your silly patois of the Obesity in Broadcasting network carries no weight in the real world!

Limbaugh never saw it coming and is down for a mandatory 8-count, he'll come back with his usual personal constitution, flaccid and weak.

I've never seen Mr. O'Donnell read so much Scripture that made me laugh so damn hard!

  • the bible can mean whatever you want it to mean...

Just pick your verses put your interpretation to it and you can join the 33,000 Christian religions already presenting themselves for top position

  • Also according to NT Jesus have said "Render to Caesar the things which are Caesar's.", which simply means - pay taxes and leave God out of this business, so MOST Christian churches (except some American Evangelist ones obviously) are keeping to principle "state first" - obey laws.

  • @SwineNahNah except that churches in america don't pay any taxes.

  • @hardinmichael1981

But Christians do... mostly. If they don't then the "evil" FBI, IRS, Secret Service, BATF, SWAT (National Guard) may come to "visit" those entranched in their own big Christian "family"/harem/kingdom, which will make some "Conservatives"/religious loonies even firmer in their belief of global liberal conspiracy.

Besides, Christianity, including the most fundamentalist kind, ins't directly based on Bible, "inerrant word of God" is too self contradicting to serve as a guide.

  • limbaugh HIMSELF can't even believe the shit he spews

  • I love this Lawrence O' Donnell cat

  • Awesome! Lawrence is fighting fire with fire, and I like it.

  • @Hereticbooks

That brownish substance ain't fire, but principle of using the same stuff to fight BS is still the same. 8D

  • Is O'Donnell a Christian?

  • @sera7ares raised a Catholic as I recall, not sure about now

  • One Nation under god, and totally uneducated..

  • Lawrence O'Donnell is constantly owning Christians.
