How does this regulate blood glucose levels? Was this a case of type I or type II diabetes? What were the short and long term effects? What was the condition of the patient before and after the treatment? You say the therapy is effective, but in what way? What evidence is there of its effectiveness?
@F2L4Life The research goes on. The treatment is supposed to increase function of pancreas. This helps in many patients to regulate blood sugar. This is Acupuncture treatment, it works. So we do not bother to prove it in modern medical terms.
Most of allopathy treatments and research can not be proved in acupuncture terms. There are M.D.s and experts in science of psychology. Yet nobody can prove the exact position of psych in the body. We acupuncture practitioners know where it is.
Then this treatment should only be used for type II diabetes. A patient with type I diabetes would die without insulin injections as the pancreas is usually dysfunctional and regeneration of the pancreas would not suffice as the source of the problem will not have been dealt with (typically an autoimmune condition). This is why I asked of the condition of the patient.
Also in response to your comment regarding psychology, the science has changed much in recent years. Psychology is no longer considered pseudoscience as many of it's concepts have been linked directly to Neurochemistry, brain anatomy, and DNA.
The hypodermic needle should be slightly thicker than the silver wire.

Why does the wire have to be silver?
On the CO11 point... which is on or inferior to the concha? And going right through the concha? Must be terribly painful... but worth it if it works!

@patient108 wire can be of silver or gold.
the wire is woven in skin only and does not pass through the ear cartilage.
not painful if we needle hoku first.
