Those glasses certainly suit Idina! I think that Kristin and Idina clicked coz they were the first Elphaba and Glinda! The originals! I still love Helen Dallimore! She's extremely talented, and I think she sounds good with Idina.
i think Kristin and Idina click better with the roles of best friends, but i think Helen's voice sounds better with Idinas. I think Kristins voice is a little...hmmm I guess "breathy" is the best word i can think of. I think Helen can hold the notes better
Helen has a good voice but fit for Glinda? Not really... She doesn't seem extremely fit to play Glinda. She doesn't seem to have the perkiness and cherriness and all that fun stuff the character should have. She can give those....somewhat... But, many people fail at Glinda. The best were Kristen and the person who came right after her I think (Forgot her name =P)

The outfits used in Wicked can be put into three categories; outfits you would want added to your wardrobe, and outfits that you might wear on Halloween (for fun, not scaring people), and outfits that you would wear on Halloween to scare the ^#@% out of people. Most of Glinda's outfits would probably fit in the first category for most girls.
They did that on purpose, to show the difference between Elphaba and the rest of the people. They made the Wizard American too, to show that he was from another world (ours).
I saw this cast back in December last year, and I have to say they were amazing, they really knew how to capture the audience! I'm going again next month with my drama class and we are doing a workshop with the cast beforehand, so I can't wait to do that and see how the newer cast measures up!

elphabe is the original american actress from broadway. the uk glinda, actually sounds like glinda from the film the wizard of oz. i've seen it both on broadway and in the west end, and it was by far better in London.

Its really a matter of opinion, i guess. I've seen alot of elphaba's but I like Idina best. IMO she a standard that no one has quite meet yet, but Julia comes pretty close, Eden too.

Idina is the only one with a non-London accent, she's clashing with the ensemble, not Helen. Idina is nothing like the book Elphaba portrayal wise, the musical producers tried to steer clear of that image.
In the London version, or it might just be this performance, I don't know, Elphaba seems a lot more like the character from the book. Normally she differs quite a bit, but she seems more like the Elphaba I imagined when I read the book. Just an observation.

I think she probably wanted 'closure'- a chance to do the show again after she never got to do her final show properly in the states.

Its really a matter of opinion, i guess. I've seen alot of elphaba's but I like Idina best. IMO she a standard that no one has quite meet yet, but Julia comes pretty close, Eden too.

Aw I just love where it talks about Elphie fitting in...I'm a total Elphie-girl...fave character, and idk i just love her!!!!!!! +Idina was the best Elphie there ever was/is...NO QUESTIONS ASKED =]

OSD doesn't have any high HIGH notes. Considering she can hit the notes in NOMTW she's not really going to have trouble anywhere else.

Idina is the only one with a non-London accent, she's clashing with the ensemble, not Helen. Idina is nothing like the book Elphaba portrayal wise, the musical producers tried to steer clear of that image.

The lady who plays Glinda is bad. Her british accent doesn't sound good with the song. Still, Idina Menzel is an awesome Ephaba!

I like Idina Menzel's voice alot. She's my favorite.
And yes, she's more like in the book, but it's like her fourth year at it. So, she has experience..

In the London version, or it might just be this performance, I don't know, Elphaba seems a lot more like the character from the book. Normally she differs quite a bit, but she seems more like the Elphaba I imagined when I read the book. Just an observation.

Any guy can sing any song he wants. Just because the people in the vid. sang it in a high octave doesn't mean he can't sing it down the octave. This is one of my fav. Wicked songs =D

okay, lets get things straight... i never sed it was wrong for MEN to sing it, jst u dont know this boy hunni... nd im the last person 2 object to this boy singing, he is one AMAZING kid, its jst that this song isnt his style of music... and also i LOVE musicals i jst kind of object to some of the cheesey songs.. high school musical for one example - noooooooooooooooo, kill me now, not HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL!
