I work for a public school. I just became site tech. I have no manuals or any info on any equipment, and this is exactly what I need to know and very easy to find and understand. You will be my first choice on my next computer hardware, parts, peripherals, etc. purchase. THX!
from what I understand the higher the first number, the better. most hdtv's have a ratio of around 10000:1 I believe. but, it's a projector, so expect less. I'm currently comparing this one to the Toshiba TDP-SP1U Mobile Projector (approx $500) which has 2000:1 contract. But as with any product, consider all the specs and not just one to see if it's a good fit for you. :)
i ended up ordering that toshiba.. i'm totally excited about it.. movies and games are gonna be awesome. :) Can you take a few pictures of your setup so I can see what 400:1 looks like?

is 400:1 contrast ratio or w/e good or bad?? cuz i know thers like 3,0000 - 10,000:1 or w/e idk the numbers but is 400:1 good or bad?
