  • Thats what Led Zeppelin is all about!

That rhythm gets me jamming all over the place :D

  • Its nice to hear stuff in the development stage

  • I think Paul Rodgers used his voice perfectly with this arrangement. I call it The Firm's Stairway to Heaven.

  • thanx''s for the listening love it seen jimmy play this live on his solo tour back a while lol played the song as a build-up with white-summer amazing!!!

  • nice...:)))

  • was this on the coda album? I just wonder how many rare demos from Zeppelin songs remain in a vault unheard?

  • What tuning is this in?

  • ROBERT SINGS

  • On the bootleg where this is from, it is labelled Swan Song part 1 (or 2) I can't remember which.

  • This is great. Will you post more of this?

  • Damn thats really cool! I always wondered what it would have sounded like with them playing it. God I love their music!

  • @cnote05 I stand Corrected.......... My apologies

  • i think u mean, "The Swan Song"

  • i think thats the only picture ive ever seen of them in the studio!!!

  • @IMW289 your wrong this was not Swan Song,Swan Song had the same feel and sound........

  • @cnote05 it was the swan song that became midnight moonlight though, it evolved, it was still just the swan song at the time, then the firm needed to rename it when they made it a full song

  • Read "Hammer of the Gods" (Zep bio) and there is an interesting discussion on how Jimmy molded this song when he formed The Firm using bits of unfinished Zep material. He meant this to be a TSRS/ALS/Kashmir-type opus, but never finished it. Nice to hear it! Thanks for posting!

  • @bianchi1885Guitarist Jimmy Page has stated about Hamemer Of The Gods:

I think I opened [the book] up in the middle somewhere and started to read it, and I just threw it out the window. I was living by a river then, so it actually found its way to the bottom of the sea.

  • @xxmaxexstreamxx you weren't living "in a van down by the river" were you? lol :) I just had to "go there" :)

(Chris Farley's "Matt Foley" skit from SNL)

  • @kd4adv lol. That's what Jimmy Page Stated about the hammer of the gods book. that he threw it out his house window and it went into the river. lol

  • According to the band's vocalist Robert Plant about Hammer of the Gods: The guy who wrote that book knew nothing about the band. I think he'd hung around us once. He got all his information from a guy who had a heroin problem who happened to be associated with us. The only thing I read was the "After Zeppelin" part, because I was eager to get on with the music and stop living in a dream state

  • es impresionante esta cancion....es sencillamente perfecta...

  • any tabs?

  • Jimmy gave this song to Paul because it was never really finished by Zeppelin. And yes, it was originally called "Swan Song". I don't have ALL the facts. Hell; you're on the internet anyway, just look it up! Let's all get our facts straight! Duh...........

  • love that bass drum!

  • SWAN SONG?

  • just love Bonzos technique. He sure had a sweet right foot.

  • @narly151 wake up you ignorant fuck!! jimmy wrote the piece of music swansong in 1974 and nine years later moulded the melody into midnight moonlight for the appeal to ARMS gigs for ronnie lane in 1983!! Listen to the drums thats pure Bonzo the only reason Zeppelin never recorded it was because Robert didn't like the song!!

  • wake up people, had nothin' to do with zep !!! paul rogers solo !!! then the firm did it !!! wanna be zep fans !!!

  • It is The Firm people

  • Imagine what could have been. This might have been greater than even Stairway.

  • NICE.

  • had never heard this....thanks for sharing it! Its amazing...

  • didn't this become a song for the FIRM later on?

  • @allmightymouse Yea thats what I was thinking

  • @Seanwashere6 where can i find this song ?

  • @zeppelinrocks456 its on the fims first album called just the firm, great song with paul rodgers singing

  • @allmightymouse

It was on the first one shelf title The Firm

  • @allmightymouse Yes it did Quite a good one also

  • This was originally titled "Swan Song" and Jimmy resurrected it for the Firm's Midnight Moonlight.

  • i think they should have released it!

  • Do you have any idea where one could get the mp3 for this?
