I think the kids of today are spoilt by the cheap airfares.

when I was a young lad this wasn't an option and the closest I got to a plane when I saw one flying overhead.

@andrew34430 There is a difference between children crying because of ear trouble or the fact they are just a baby but then there are noisy little brats where the parents do not control their kids and they scream and shout.

5 hours? I am confused..is this the Avalon Airport near Melbourne, or is there another Avalon in Oz? Melbourne to Brisbane can't be a 5 hour flight...

@82648947 Due to the rain /thunder storms in Brisbane (see landing of same flight) we had to stay on the plane and therefore we were on board a total of 5 hours.

Kids obviously not enjoying being in such a confined space, one apparently very young, by the cry. 5 hours is a long journey for kids of any age really. We cannot choose our fellow travellers unfortunately....whats the answer? People need to travel...luck of the draw I guess!
