Sure Physx is "just" eye candy, So what? Paralax mapping is just eye-candy. HDR is just eye-candy, high-res textures are just eye-candy, heck evenparticle effects are JUST eye-candy. But all these small details make a game realistic and appealing. Your GPU is for eye-candy, that's what it's for. So don't complain about features that "don't add anything" to the gameplay :P
What's with all the comments about "unrealistic" effects? This is a game folks, a fantasy game - nothing about it is supposed to be realistic. PhysX makes the effects more exciting, which isn't really a bad thing. And if you don't like it I'm pretty sure you don't have to enable it. The leaves do look kinda annoying though.
Who wants all that shit flying around? No thanks. Reminds me of the bloody mess perk in Fallout3, who needs it? It also makes the game more unrealistic if its like the bloody mess perk.
And they didnt even show the Clustering maelstrom, wich would have the beste tornado effect. But have to agree without it now looks dull in comparison, but I also think its overkill.
I wish they would implement physx in more games. Its really cool. Like imagine Just cause 2 with better explosions and really detailed parachute ripple. Or imagine having particle effects like this in mass effect 2.

I'm hoping Nvidia will give us more than just stuff like this. I wasn't even aware that the MAfia 2 demo wasn't defaulting to my GPU for physics until it was brought to my attention. We need these physics effects to be heavier, more involved, and more intense, otherwise, it's just something my CPU can do, and to me, that makes it much less "special".
greenleaves PHYSX rocks, its eyecandy yes and this is what pc games have to go, all u tell the graphics doesn't get better after crysis and dx11 with physx u can fill the games with many particles who u can see in the real world and this is making the games more realistics, physx are the future!

Problem with PhysX is that's JUST eye candy, something to Nvidia use as marketing and not to really add something useful to the game. And that's the main use to the physics system on games, for example on BC2 you can actually destroy the buildings to kill people inside or partially destroy it so they can't use as cover, you can cut the wire fences to get through.
