Its a Volkswagen engine 2.4 liters the same parts engine of the 1.6 liters 4 cylinder and somme of those model where sold to with somme 5 cyl. 2 liters. They were popular in the mid-heighty here in canada and us the 6 cyl. was 80 hp with-out the turbo version and 96 hp with turbo but they did last long ! Nice engine but to small for the heavy car ! I had one in 1995 ! Max

@malamolo is it the original engine? you dont see that much diesel volvos in sweden at least not 6 cylinders..
