@emmawithnodilemma its based on indigenous australian dance. a lot of their dance is based on animals as well as the ability to dance as a unit. some of the movements arent actually based around animals but rather the aspect of their movements having a reaction on the rest of the group so that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.
This looks like theater for kids. The word "silly" comes to mind. The idea of "ilustrating the music" comes to mind as well. Not his best piece. Kylian has most amazing pieces, not this one.

In the world of the contemporary arts, I have been most impressed with dance and architecture. Maybe it is because both must strictly follow the laws of gravity. The use of percussion music in this piece by Jiří Kylián of Nederlands Dans Theatre is an added bonus.
