@edj66 thanks edj she realy is a very nice kit to build and a great model to fly, ive had the kyosho spits and many others and none of them compare to this one. i'm thinking of buying another so i can do it as a single seater in a different colour scheme
@garyflyer I've got a Kyosho one, unmade and in it's box. I am thinking of selling it. I think you should build it into the MKXI reconnaissance versiont. I've never seen a blue model spit before, it'd be brilliant. I may well buy one of the kits too, in good time. Maybe the whole set!
@edj66 Considering it's literally only been opened for a photograph just now for an ebay listing, I'd hope to get £100ish for it (I think it was £130 to begin with). The new Kyosho Spit is £150 for the same sort of thing, although it's slightly bigger, mine's for a .40 2 stroke, the new one's for a .50. I'm trying to get rid of an old radio and receiver set too, a Futaba 6YG. It's 35mhz though, so a bit out of date now sadly.
Thx mate , I'm buying one on Tuesday and wondered where's a good place/forum to post my build pics as it would be my first build . I've got loads of experience with foamies and artf kits but I've never done a conversion before , so the engine fit , size of outrunner and where and how to fit all the pieces in will be a first for me :-)
@Techy111 Hiya tony. yes she could easily be electrified and there is room for a large lipo. in fact i have made mine heavy with such a large engine. they are actually designed to fly on a smaller 52 four stroke. i think an electric one would be fantastic. and if you did build one electric i would be very interested in following the build myself.
Hi Gary, would you recommend the spitfire as a first build? And also a first warbird? I havent built a plane yet but i would say that im quite technically minded? Im a member of a club so if i do run into problems i could ask one of them for assistance. Also read your thread over on flying sites and it doesnt look beyond ridiculously hard
@Trig10uk Hi trig, as a 1st build yes i recomend the spitfire. it is the easiest of richards kits to build, very straight forward. you will get on well with it. the flying side of it obviously i don't know your flying skills. but a club member could take you up on a buddy box to get you familiar with it. landing the spit is the hardest part but i can tell you how to cope with that from my experiance with richars spitfire. the engine i would recomend for this spit would be in the 70four stroke
@garyflyer i can be contacted on my own forum to help you with it's construction m8. i am at present building the warbirds large LA7 and im doing a video build. youtube does not let you post website address. so to find me go to google and type in gary132 and it will bring you across my forum. if you join up we can asisst you in your build and flying.
Gary was wondering if you had any experience of the warbird replica air whistle? was thinking of getting one for my Parkzone Spitfire and placing it in the mock up radiator i have built. thanks in advance
thanks alasdair, it was a delight to build, and is pure delight to fly. i now have the second warbird replica in hangar ready to be built, there 61" Hawker Hurricane. hope your all well at your club.
@garyflyer awesome plane....built the bf109G years back, contemplating getting back into the hobby and doing this or the mustang.....looks like you did an incredible job on the build
