  • youtube.com/watch?v=t--bvVVVISo no other wheel can do that then its not even a disk

  • @bobbins2020 can you translate you comment into English please ?

  • That's pretty crazy...Is pro-lite offering sponsorship deals right now?

  • @Spencerh1279 depends what country you are in

  • @seanray12 Zipp works like a sponge and flexes like you cant imagine as previously posted this is the fastest disc on the market and if you dig deep enough will find it being used by a lot of top pro riders - the difference is what decals get put on it !!!

  • Having seen literally dozens of broken wheels from Zipp, Hed and Corima we are yet to get any of ours back broken. Whats the use of producing light wheels when the hubs rip out and flex so much they hit the brake pads and chainstays

  • @sering9 and just how do you prove this then ?

  • @roibasses The power transfer properties of this wheel will out perform any other wheel on the market. Tests over 50km on the track showed this wheel produced faster times of almost 90 seconds when conducted using the same power output, rider and bike. Weight is around 1080-1100 gms and comes with a 2:1 track conversion kit which converts in around 1 minute

  • @proliteboss Sounds reasonable. It's not that heavy. There are tubular versions?

  • @roibasses yes clincher and tubular versions available

  • @roibasses the pro-lite website has all details

  • which is the best wheel? is it all marketing hype cos i am thinking of spending hard earned dough on a pair of carbon aero wheels but can't decide which yet?

  • I should say that stiffness is more important than being light. You loose energy when they flex and some wheels flex so much that the rim hits the brakebads when you are pushing hard standing up. Being aero is fine and being light is fine as long as it doesn't const you in stiffness.

  • You are very correct with your thoughts, I have asked some of our technical guys to lok at making a video to prove te point

  • Agreed.... recently did a 1000meter plus hill climb and my Dura Ace wheels flexed very badly... had to adjust the brake tension to stop the rub.

  • So lighter makes you go faster ??? seems the BS marketing does work then - in our test over 50km with same rider , bike and power output pro-lite was 82 seconds faster over 50 km zipp works like a sponge as it is too flexible

  • The choice is yours but having a wheel that works like a sponge can only make you go slower and this is why so many top riders are now demanding the Padova disc wheel and clcking faster times

  • Well the reason they dont is because they cant, the wheels are too weak and that is why they flew so much under load and act like sponges, hence the reason why the Padova disc wheel offers far greater power transfer and makes you go faster

  • dang, i wish i could do that with my hed wheels...

    hahaha

now thats the kind of testing hed and zipp should be doing! wind tunnels dont prove anything!

  • maybe these guys you refer too are too weak to ride. How many sprinters at world level do you know under 90kg ??? I guess you are one of the usual know it alls who use Google as your reference, engage the brain before writing might be useful in the future. Lets see you do this test with any other disc wheel in the world. The point is that Pro-Lite disc is so strong and delivers far more power from the rider

  • Maybe you should ask Theo Boss how many he has broken is sprints ? 50km test with 300 watt of power gave 88 seconds fater than same test using a zipp. Your statement that the most powerful sprinters in the world dont produce enough power to make a zipp flex !!! may I ask you to back that up with facts then ?

  • What is the point of having a light wheel that flexes like hell and acts like a sponge absorbing power from the rider. When I tested several Zipp wheel in a sprint I could get the wheel to flex so much the tyre was rubbing on the inside of the chain stays !!! If you get your facts right and check the weight of this wheel with other wheels it is actually one of the lightest, but most important is that it is the strongest disc on the market and it transfers power far better than anything else

  • Wow. That is cool.

  • Look these slipers are high tech items designed for the testing procedure we laid down. They are not available to any Tom, Dick or Harry. I do have a spare pair you can borrow if you ask nicely.

  • I can take or leave the wheel ... how much for the cute slippers?
