The car simply has too much power. There's so much he can't get the power to the tarmac, so the wheels just spin and the back end goes everywhere. He either needs to shed a couple of hundred HP or get the back end sorted to put the power on the track. A car with half the power but decent grip will probably leave this one for dead on the track and the strip.
Dude he's not a bad driver that car isn't meant to be sideways what so ever and the fact that he stayed on the pavement and pulled off a 360 that he obviously counter steered into to save it without rolling the car on those radials was sick.

@sbc388550 its called powercruise. Its at eastern creek which is a full sized race circuit, they have them all round australia now. This would have been in a cruise, so you cruise around and race, drift, like most people want to on the street just not get busted and a heap safer. Theres a heap of other events, street drags, powerskid, drifting, dyno comps etc etc. A shit load of fun really.

@whitbyjet65 Yeah but it wasnt a standing start. A car with that much power will get uncontrollably loose at the back end if unloaded on a track that hasnt been coated in hot rubber from a burn out. Thats why the do a burn out before they drag race.

@zyoungson215 lol, i had 4 capris in my teens and this is perfectly normal road handling even for the bottom end 1.6L model, even in the wet you needed a 40kg sand bag in the boot to stop losing the back end. such a great car though and so many fond memories :-)
