WOW love your hair! My mouth dropped as you were taking off your head scarf. I was wondering do you think it would be beneficial to go to a Dominican stylist to let them blow out my hair because i am six months into my transitioning at the moment and i am in seneglease twist. When I take them out I am not sure what I should do...what do you think?
@IndependentIAM Hmm...that would depend on who your Dominican stylist is. My stylist doesn't like to do a blow out on a lot of new growth. I have type 4a hair, so it takes quite a bit of heat to get my new growth straight which can burn your scalp. Some Dominican stylist don't mind. So, I would just ask the stylist before you set your appointment if she will do your hair since you are transitioning.
@myrareid I don't really know much about BKT or what it is. One of my favorite hair gurus suffered damage from a BKT...that pretty much killed any curiosity I had of it lol!!

wow..your hair is gorgeous..the dominican salons can really bring your hair back...prior to me getting braids they have my hair back to health...its just that at week 5 or 6 im screaming for a relaxer so when those weeks come i stop going to them so that i can stretch longer...i let another professional relax my hair and then i go back to them

Hi, I've been perming/relaxing my hair for almost 20 years. I have a "decent" grade of hair, it perms easily. However, I CANNOT go more than 8-9 weeks without looking like Buckwheat . How is that you can last that long! (NOT said in a nasty way) :)
LOL...I can get pretty close to looking like buckwheat myself! So, when that happens I will braid my hair up and wear half wigs until it is relaxer time. They work well for me, they are natural looking, plus it is keeping me from putting too much stress on my hair, especially when I have a lot of new growth.

@iluvmyself551 No, a perm or relaxer is a chemical process. A dominican blow out is basically a rollerset blowed out with a blow dryer.

No, she didn't wrap my hair and put me under the dryer again. She just lightly blew my hair out and I was good to go.
This lasted me about a good 2 weeks, with wrapping my hair every night.
