The character development in this movie is amazing. I *really* hope that the little dog makes it out alright. His is definitely the best acting in the movie. And his lines are a cut above those of his costars.
The rest of the town is probably better off as Blob food. Especially the police force and Steve's parents.
ummm sorry i'm still tryna wrap my head around the idea that a blob of crap can kill ppl. i like how in the 1988 on, the blob was acid. that makes a lil more sense in how it kills ppl
when i saw this movie in the theater it cost 75 cents ! and we all loved it ! lol ! and i have to thank all of you for the amazing funny comments ! you guys are so kool and funny ! ty !
these bitches piss me off..the main chick in particular..how the fuck do u bust ur ass while the Blob is after you and then wait till that douche carries u away..and yeah..fuckin 80 cents..are u kiddin me..u pull me out of a movie that costs 80 cents im good..pull me out of a $11.50 movie n im tellin u to fuck off!!!
@kotaro07 I grew up in the 50s but don't consider myself an "old person", thanx very much :)) but ur right, 80 cents was a lot, a movie ticket back then cost 50 cents...
It's hilarious how all the "kids" are so eager to help out and warn the town about something that none of them have actually seen but have only heard about from one guy and one girl.
They'd have 2 give us a drug test justa be sure though. They cant just send us 2 jail w/out takin a drug test just cuz they "think" we're on something. Its like at a job site, nothing will happen 2 u untill u've been proven ur on drugs.
They shouldnt "remake the blob", I wish they'd Just make a new original film that incorporates ideas from thee old classic movies, Kind of like Independence did with the "attack of the flying saucers" .
The reason why they had a bell for the projectionist was to alert him when the end of the reel was approaching. He would then look at the screen for the "cigarette burns," which are cues where the first one tells him to get ready to switch and the second one indicates to start the other projector loaded with the next reel to continue the film.
In "The Blob," the projectionist is killed before he could do this, which is why the film runs out while the audience is watching.
In case anyone is wondering, people really did have wallpaper that ugly back then. The faded look was considered genteel.
Maybe that's why Steve's girlfriend's father is also played by a sixty-year-old. If she's the eldest child, and she's eighteen, then her father should be 48, max. I know that during the depression, many people postponed having families, but they generally did not postpone for twenty years!
@JohnDeere30201 There WAS no one emergency number. You probably could dial the operator and let THEM do it, but otherwise you called the number of whatever the appropriate local service was- Police, fire department, ambulance, whatever.
