Damn good. I wish more people would play Ricks for different kinds of music other than sixties "jingly-jangly" sounds. I'm not sure if it's full potential has fully been explored, though Pete Townshend did some wild things with them i.e. My Generation. I never realized how great they sound for rockabilly until I saw your video. Thanks.
I'd say you're both right - You could say this type of rockabilly is a mix of country and blues. The chord sequence is a form of 12-bar blues and the the melody contains blues notes.
You're very good! I'm here under MajorHart.. I played for over 20 years in the bars and clubs and often heard about Carl Perkins and just when I decided I really liked his music and wanted to learn some - I found out sadly that he had died. and George Harrison too.
He even today would be a big star because his beats were fabulous and he obviously enjoyed what he was doing.
Keep up the good work - I'm going to listen to some others of your stuff now.
Thanks very much! I was lucky enough to see Carl play live in the late 1980s. He's long been a favourite of mine. Greatly under-rated by the mainstream (but not by rockabilly fans). and sadly missed. As is George Harrison, who was another big Carl Perkins fan.
I like his guitar too - he should keep playing that - he is very good. and it doesn't have to be done in exactly the same way to be good. Just as long as it is very similar.
Thanks for the defence! I probably play it a little differently every time I do it, and I've noticed from various live recordings and re-recordings that so did Carl.
just played alomg with my piano to the song. maybe I make recording and send it to ya.;-)

Great job...you need to be on stage with a hard drivin rhythm section behind you.

GREAT singer. Lose the guitar (it just gets in your way) and front the band. The tune doesn't go back to "D" from the "E".

Wow, that Rick sounds just like a Gretch T. Rose guitar. I suspect the pickups are similar.
Great guitar tone!
