Colonel Prouty was one of Kennedy's writers of NSAM #263, which publicly announced his plan to have one thousand military men home by Christmas and all US personnel out of Vietnam by the end of 1965.
THE BAY OF PIG'S FAILURE WAS NOT JFK'S FAULT BUT A SHREWD SETUP SO HE'D LOSE CREDIBILITY WITH THE MILITARY & INTELLIGENCE ESTABLISHMENT THUS MAKING HIM PRONE TO ASSASSINATION & A FEW YEARS LATER THEY PURPOSELY FAILED TO PROTECT HIM IN DALLAS

@ekimewol - please check your facts regarding Vietnam. Kennedy inherited a presence in Vietnam from Eisenhower. To state that he nearly got us all killed during the Cuban Missile Crisis shows another lack of knowledge about the events, which are now part of the public record. The Joint Chiefs of Staff wanted military action imediately. Kennedy showed great restraint, seeking a non-violent resolution.

JFK had many good, progressive policies but he was also a die-hard Cold Warrior, and that was his big drawback. He got us into Vietnam. The Cuban Missile Crisis was totally unnecessary; he nearly got us all killed, and for what? A few years after the Russians backed down and pulled their missiles out of Cuba, they had a fleet of ballistic missile submarines patrolling the East Coast, much closer to Washington DC, New York and other major US cities than they ever were in Cuba.
President Kennedy was, in my opinion, the last great American president. He was a great speaker, with a true love for the United States. He did what he felt was best for the everyman, not for the rich and powerful. While he wasn't perfect, he is my hero. He was God's gift to America.
the best, greatest american president of the 20th century! a true patriot who cared for his country, his people, and died for trying to do the best for us. thats a true american hero! i despair of we will ever again have such a president worthy of that high office, good and true as a leader.
BRILLIANT VIDEO , IT SHOWS KENNEDY AS AN INTELLIGENT POLITICAL LEADER AND A GREAT HUMANITARIAN, AND A LEADER WITH A POLITICAL PURPOSE, TO BENEFIT THE WELFARE AND ASPIRATIONS OF HIS AND FUTURE GENERATIONS,
He wasn't perfect, but every president after has been increasingly worse. Obama is no better than a well groomed Corporate servant who speaks not nearly as well as this man.
At 4:53, enough to make me want to cry. A president who blatantly told the special interests that he was there for the people, not them. Imagine a statement like that today...
What a great collection of JFK clips. Clearly he was the last great president. He had vision, intelligence, combat experience and compassion. Nobody president since him comes close to his greatness.
The part at the end where he quotes Dickens' A Christmas carol is absolutely astounding. Such an excellent public speaker with these values, it's no wonder he has gone down in history as one of the best leaders the world has had in his short tenure. We could use his words to reflect how we all currently live and change for the better. I particularly like his words about preventing churches influencing schools, public figures and his words that businesses should act for the good of mankind.
Those who have studied JFK in depth know that politics was never really his thing. He went into it with much reluctance. Writing was his real passion. He wrote several great books and I am sure would have written many more. He like so many sons wanted to make his father proud of him. I'd say he succeeded beyond anyone's expectations. He won the heart of a nation and of the world. You can see that by the films of Ireland and Berlin. Not to mention the crowds he drew everywhere.
Oh and one more thing Pinksnotgoth, when JFK was called upon to serve his country in war, he did so and nearly lost his own life and saved the life of a fellow solder in WWII. What did Clinton do? Didn't serve, draft dodger. Also JFK's father suffered a massive stroke shortly after the election, so his ability to "control" his son ended then.
Can't stand Connally's comments. JFK was one of the most popular Presidents in history, enjoying high poll ratings. It was only in June, 1963 after he proposed a civil rights bill to Congress that his favorable rating dropped to 59%. Still he was hugely popular.
JFK brought new heights for the modern American. He was a revolutionary, non-conformist, and humanist , who is neither socialist, communist, nor radical. He was far too advance of generation. He was killed for his vision. And eventually, JFK vindicated himself with all the failed policies and the wars America entered into after him, are all but reminders of JFKs humanity--we can win wars not by arms alone, but by the indomitable spirit of man and his intellect ! What a waste JFK was for America
Regarding your comment about JFK. Bill Clinton is the one who is a fraud, and it will be borne out. He was a JFK wannabe. The Clintons are long time members of the Bilderberg group, do some research on that. It is a group of elites from all over the world who hold secret meetings every year to discuss how to move the chess pieces on their world chess board in which they have all the money and the power. You and I are the chess pieces.
It still irks me to hear these comments by Gov. Connally, who rose considerably in stature after the death of JFK then became a Republican. JFK was still immensely popular at the end of 1963, and would probably have been re-elected, even with the buffoon LBJ in the VP office. Lest anyone hear him say these things and think that the mood of the country was with Connally, think twice. Connally was with big oil and big business and there are many who think he had foreknowledge of the killing.
John F. Kennedy really was a warrior for peace...I'm only 21 and far too young to know what it was like to live in the 1960s, but I long for a leader who can inspire, admit when they have made a mistake, and fight for what is morally right regardless of pressures from special interests. The more I read about JFK, the more endearing he becomes to me. The world was truly robbed of great men when Jack and Bobby where taken far too early.
"John F. Kennedy really was a warrior for peace" - He was my icon once but HE Also was terrorist, Peace? Who knows. He ltalked about Pece...whjile CIA operation Mungoose act of terrorism was under process. JUST REMEMBER THIS: Nothing happens in USA without approval of US president. Kennedy, like his dad and bro were fascists who became Democrats and better good mens.
indeed he was a humanist and a peacemaker, an intellectual (read the guns of august by barbara tauchman) a courageous American a leader and finally the best we had...
he was a man of great vision and great charisma and decent purposes for the best of the American people
Many people say JFK was our last chance. RFK was really our last chance. He stood for everything that JFK did. He may not have been as dynamic a speaker, but he had the same heart and soul as his brother, true compassion for mankind. Same people killed both, without a doubt.
This man was possessed of such an incredible sense of responsibility to humanity. It's painful to listen to him speak here and then consider what has become of this country since his death.
There should be no question after seeing this what JFK was all about. Notice the meteoric rise of Connally after his death. Nixon and Connally both profited immensely. But Nixon was a victim of his own umitigated paranoia and hunger for power. He left office in shame. Connally died a bitter and financially broken man having to sell his belongings at auction. Take a lesson everyone. JFK was the real deal and he was killed because he cared too much about we the people.
all of the current politicians envoke JFK, and none of them are fit to do so. he had faults like anyone, but he proved his worth more than any politician has in our time. he had principles and a real fortitude
he fullfilled his oath of office to the outmost, he did not betrayed the people and he paid with his life.. what have we done for him? what ahve we done for us? not even justice!! what a shame!!
Ebeneezer Scrooge is visited by ghosts of the past (they are all dammed) among themJacob Murray is his former partner, Scrooge is terrified... and he says in a little voice but Jacob you were always a good businessman? but Jacob shut him up by saying: video last 40 second) PS;bushy johnson nixonconnelly dullesand all the other neocons are still killing him and killing us
Such an idealist who actually has power may at best even in a free society come around once in every one hundered years. He was magic on display and the last real american president
"Then I believe it is the business of the President of the United States to concern himself with the GENERAL WELFARE and the public interest and if the people feel that it is not then they should secure the services of a new President of the United States." - WOW! What a fighting word from a great President.
Makes you wonder how Great America could have been if he did finished his 8 year term. and led the way for RFK. JFK "The Last American President". RIP
John F. Kennedy did not gain popularity from the elite, with many of his ideals, values, and 'Anti-Business' statements. Some of his words, worthy of rememberance.
thanks for posting this-now the Business F-wits are running the world , pocketing plundering there own businesses-running huge debts and giving themselves miilions of dollars in bonuses--without any thought--of the future to come-live now--F-tomorrow--
The last true American president. The last president to speak freely against secret societies and many other corrupt factions including but not limited to.. media, bankers, government. A true humanitarian where the interest of the country and all of its citizens were paramount. In this time and age, we are in dire need of such a heroic and noble figure as leader and president of the USA. Food dor thought.. Dennis Kucinich, Ron Paul, Jesse Ventura
evil will not, must not triumph !!! we are, the good people, we are the one who must bear the burden of this twilight struggle now and today nothing is more important than this ....being this not a call to bear arms no arms we need not a call to battle not embattled but a call to dissent a call to dispute and refute this current administration yet a powerful dissent voiced in civil manner and under the rule of laws but a dissent directed to the highest institution of this great republic
I wasnt even born when JF Kennedy still lived. But when I listen to his speech, tears appear in my eyes. He foresaw what could happen in this world. What he feared, is happening now. But his voice has been silenced. His voice has to be kept alive by others. We have to stop this type of world enslavement soon. For the sake of those who have died, battling against it!
This guy speaks the truth! Just look at our wages, quality of life and living standards compared to other nations. People living in Canada, Scandanavia and other social-democratic nations live way more better lives. Did you know that the average canadian earns more money after they pay their taxes than what the average american earns Before taxes! How sad is that.
How come we drive the world economy, all there GDP's are a fraction of ours. You look at the poor i look at the rich, We have more than a thousand peopl with a billion dollars. Now thats wealth but you say its to hard well nothing is free i say. I also have horror stories of the health system in canada but you only look at how many are covered and not the quality which i look at. Two sides to a story earn it and strive to perfetion with that comes wealth. People in america want a piece for free
FYI: the CIA FactBook shows the USA to now be dead LAST in financial solvency, ranked 176th out of 176 nations, with a crippling economic deficit, a grossly unfavorable trade balance, record personal & small business bankruptcies, housing foreclosures & losses, mounting credit card debt, soaring unemployment, gas prices approaching $5 per gallon, & a 1-in-7 chance of being financially wiped out by having a baby, falling ill, or job loss. So stop looking only at the rich, you elitist!
why cant the sheeple understand ? my HEART CRYS OUT TO THE PEOPLE LISTEN AND the three up for election are not for the people god help us all my heart is very heavy for all of us and i want more of you to stand up dont sit bye and take notes fight the fight your fight god bless america

read a book, move to France or russia our high unemployment is there lows so end our greed for profit & incur new problems of a stalled economy & the slow degrade of the overall quality of life. This country is based on freedom, JFK sought to limit freedoms for the rich which has been done with ugly evil results. The top pay your wages, open businesses & drive the economy at their own risk not yours & you seek to chop off their leg and chain them to a wall instead of working, now who is evil?

The main objective of the american president is to maximise the utility of the common people. I recon it takes a great leader who inspire and symbolises freedom, prosperity, vision and optimism to accomplis this. In my eyes Kennedy did just that. The US has through arrogant wars and ruthless profitmaximising lost respect in Europe during the Bush-administration. With great power comes great responsebility. The US must accept this and make policies for the common good and not for a small elite.
Sarkozy was elected on the promise of change like obama and JFK campaign for but sarkozy promotes a change that directly goes against there beleifs, how many more countries have to take the road OBAMA and liberals like JFK want to go before we dont have to make this mistake and fight against them. Work for your own worth thats all i want.
Work for your own worth, I agree. But I think you lack to realise how to do this, ie to understand the components of your utility-function. Whats the good to have endless sums of money if you can't go outside because of air-pollution or because the risk of terror. I believe we have reached a time in history where the rich countries marginal utility of becoming even more rich has declined enough to start focusing on other issues. This could be fighting pollution or fighting poverty.
Wow, the small elite huh. what would you do with power? And who cares about Europe, since when do we follow them. And we have great power and tell me when we have used it poorly, especially during Bush's campaign. The GOVERNMENT FOR THIS COUTNRY IS not what you describe, thats USSR communism, the goal of our PRESIDENT IS TO PROTECT(MILITARY AND POLICE) and SERVE thats it not to motivate, lol your a socialist wow our education system is failing big time. You are so far off!
You are so right kock33, what this President was trying to say is that we must lead by the POWER OF OUR EXAMPLE not the EXAMPLE OF OUR POWER. We have gotten so far from that and we will pay the ultimate price for electing warmongers as leaders or electing others that claim to be for peace but whose pockets have been lined by big business.
listen to this man then listen to bush. the big difference is in the standards of education we have fallen to. never will we hear such intellect insight foresight for the people again. the corporations were taking us down then to think Russia had social programs and we did not. why? Truman sold us out to the Rothschild's and Rockefeller's people all bought and sold with the people's blood monies.
I'm not so sure how mentally healthy it is to have created a "cult of Kennedy" at your You Tube web site . I saw the man up close , and so viewed and took part in history. Skipping school pales in comparison. Live history or read it. I flew a spotter plane over the Ashau Valley, Vietnam. Dream on if you must, I prefer to live life and take action. Vote Ron Paul!
dont think people understood what you meant. however i think i might. Viet nam was not Kennedy's war it was Nixon's war. i am 55 yrs. old so i witness a bit of history myself. this man was a clear threat to the neo cons present day agenda. this man was for real when on the clock. off the clock as long as of age i personally dont think it is any of my business.
Negative Randy, it was a fait accompli when he took office planned by the CIA. It was on jump street and ready to go. He enherited that screwup from the previous administration. Should he have stopped it in it's tracks prior to execution......ain't 20-20 hindsight grand?
Be it fact or fiction watch and listen to Marine Intelligence Colonel Fletcher Prody (a real person) telling Jim Garrison in their meeting in the park in Oliver Stone's "JFK" (Director's cut), about his take on who killed Kennedy.
I skipped school with two cheerleaders and we stood beside the road in a crowd leading from Sicily Drop Zone Fort Bragg, North Carolina where JFK had just seen an airborne drop and firepower demonstration. As they drove by in an open Presidential Lincoln Convertiblehe not six feet away from us, the girls smiled, beamed, jumped and shook their pompoms, he turned around to his right and stared and smiled right at us. He always was a ladies man.
Leave JFK to RIP. If you skipped school at such a young age your no saints + you must have wanted to look at him because he was handsome, so that makes you school girls lusting after a handsome guy, leave him alone you lowlife
musolinilampost very strange to call JFK a ladies man just because he smiled at school girls, that is very unfair and you really should allow the him to RIP, he has been was murdered long before I was born, but had something magical about him and I think its because he was a people person. He would have smiled at you black white young or old
JFK was murdered due to his desire to make the world a better place for all nations "We all breathe the same air". He was too far ahead of his time.
Yes he made massive mistakes regarding Cuba leading to the bay of pigs. But even this could have been far worse had he given in to pressure to send troops into Cuba.
Resolution 263 (the commitment to pull out of vietnam) sealed his fate.
Kennedy did not make mistakes about the Bay of Pigs. The CIA flat out lied to him and he knew it. They told him as soon as they landed that the people would rise up and join their side to overthrow Castro. In other words the CIA told him it would be a "cakewalk" and easy to do. We know differently and the CIA led us to the brink of nuclear war. I used to have nightmares about it, I was only 7. The CIA NEVER gets it right, they just want war. Period.
Wow, incredible! I have never heard a president in my lifetime speak like this. Actually speaking on behalf of the "people!" Amazing. No wonder JFK was too good to be true. He couldn't last. Regardless of his sexual forays and his dependency on painkillers, JFK was a visionary leader. His heart was in the right place.
If we believe in good God let us not tolerate the tyrants (fat pigs)to put the world in a situation like this. Let us unite and put these evils to justice. They used United Nation indeed, destroy the integrity. They kill, kill, kill, kill and we work for them to feed our children. Oh, yes we help them murder innocent civilians. Wake up my fellow Earthlings!

worst president ever - failed in Laos, failed in Berlin, caused the Cuban Missile Crisis through his weakness toward Nikita, increased American involvement in Vietnam, but immortalized by his tragic death and the liberal press. This clip is quite indicative - it shows the many beautiful words he could say but does not show his failure - of which there are many.
He succeeded in preventing war in Laos, Berlin, and Cuba, AND Vietnam. Vietnam was a minor conflict, which he planned to exit by 1965.
JFK was a great president, and since his assassination that country has become a fascist ogligargy, with transient heads of state subservient to the military-industrial complex. The dream died with JFK.
And yet... on his worst day JFK was still a thousand times better for America than the corporate tool that's been placed in power today. This current regime has hurt American workers and killed so many while stuffing the pockets of their political masters. JFK made serious errors for sure, but Bush's disregard for the welfare of Americans is deliberate.
People really need to "understand" what really matters to them (freedom). A taxpayer must have a say (vote) on how the government (elected representatives)spends their contributions (tax) for the good of all governed (majority of the people)... and nation.
Transparency in the "process" is a must... otherwise,
President John Kennedy once said "our most basic common link is we all inhabit this small planet, we all breathe the same air, we all cherish our childrens future, and we are all imortal" never in the history of mankind has this been so true !
Absolutely amazing video. I have never understood how amazing JFK was until I saw this. Thank you for putting it together. Have you heard of Ron Paul? What do you think of him?
Also Kennedy was doing lackluster in the midwest and mountain states in 1963. Kennedy was not Johnson and Kennedy might well have won in 1964 but it would have been much closer than it was between Goldwater/Johnson. Oh yes and real quick let me say the people in the south did not mark Kennedy for Treason because of race issues they did so because he was showing weakness towards the soviets
Wrong. It was pure racism. It took the south 120 years to forget that Abe Lincoln was a Republican. Johnson gave away the south with the civil rights act.
And by the way, Kennedy was the ONLY American president to ever stand down the Soviet Union.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Wrong Eisenhower did nothing,Kennedy did very little, Nixon,Ford and Carter pandered to them gave them money and finaly we lost our military advantage because of this. REAGAN AND REAGAN ALONE WON THE COLD WAR.
Wrong! Eisenhower started sending military to vietnam to deal with the communists. Kennedy followed that legacy and also defeated the soviets during the cuban missle crisis. Nixon opened up trade with communist china and was one of the first presidents to go to russia. Get the facts straight and stop listening to every other conservative who thinks reagan was god

RosesAndThorns91 2 years ago 5
Oh and one more thing Pinksnotgoth, when JFK was called upon to serve his country in war, he did so and nearly lost his own life and saved the life of a fellow solder in WWII. What did Clinton do? Didn't serve, draft dodger. Also JFK's father suffered a massive stroke shortly after the election, so his ability to "control" his son ended then.
RosesAndThorns91 2 years ago 3
Can't stand Connally's comments. JFK was one of the most popular Presidents in history, enjoying high poll ratings. It was only in June, 1963 after he proposed a civil rights bill to Congress that his favorable rating dropped to 59%. Still he was hugely popular.
0907oliv 2 years ago 3
JFK brought new heights for the modern American. He was a revolutionary, non-conformist, and humanist , who is neither socialist, communist, nor radical. He was far too advance of generation. He was killed for his vision. And eventually, JFK vindicated himself with all the failed policies and the wars America entered into after him, are all but reminders of JFKs humanity--we can win wars not by arms alone, but by the indomitable spirit of man and his intellect ! What a waste JFK was for America

Pinksnotgoth,
Regarding your comment about JFK.

Work for your own worth thats all i want.
bri3214 3 years ago
Work for your own worth, I agree. But I think you lack to realise how to do this, ie to understand the components of your utility-function. Whats the good to have endless sums of money if you can't go outside because of air-pollution or because the risk of terror. I believe we have reached a time in history where the rich countries marginal utility of becoming even more rich has declined enough to start focusing on other issues. This could be fighting pollution or fighting poverty.
kock33 3 years ago
Wow, the small elite huh. what would you do with power? And who cares about Europe, since when do we follow them. And we have great power and tell me when we have used it poorly, especially during Bush's campaign. The GOVERNMENT FOR THIS COUTNRY IS not what you describe, thats USSR communism, the goal of our PRESIDENT IS TO PROTECT(MILITARY AND POLICE) and SERVE thats it not to motivate, lol your a socialist wow our education system is failing big time. You are so far off!
bri3214 3 years ago
You are so right kock33, what this President was trying to say is that we must lead by the POWER OF OUR EXAMPLE not the EXAMPLE OF OUR POWER.

Period.

worst president ever - failed in Laos, failed in Berlin, caused the Cuban Missile Crisis through his weakness toward Nikita, increased American involvement in Vietnam, but immortalized by his tragic death and the liberal press. This clip is quite indicative - it shows the many beautiful words he could say but does not show his failure - of which there are many.

He succeeded in preventing war in Laos, Berlin, and Cuba, AND Vietnam. Vietnam was a minor conflict, which he planned to exit by 1965.

And yet... on his worst day JFK was still a thousand times better for America than the corporate tool that's been placed in power today. People really need to "understand" what really matters to them (freedom). A taxpayer must have a say (vote) on how the government (elected representatives)spends their contributions (tax) for the good of all governed (majority of the people)... and nation.
Transparency in the "process" is a must... otherwise,
Secrecy is Deception...
DisInformation is Manipulation...
Power is Dictatorship...

I think Paul is a right-wing nutjob.

Reagan won the cold war not Kennedy.

Reagan didnt win the cold war all by himself. It was a number of presidents who stood up to the soviet threat starting with Eishenhower

Wrong Eisenhower did nothing,Kennedy did very little, Nixon,Ford and Carter pandered to them gave them money and finaly we lost our military advantage because of this. REAGAN AND REAGAN ALONE WON THE COLD WAR.
thebig1 4 years ago
