  • The singer sounds like Less Than Jake at some points

  • Saw these guys in Portland a few days ago. Freaking awesome.

  • i love the suburban legends!!!!!!!!!!! they rock hard core!!!!!!

  • RIP Jimmy sullivan.

  • @duhcrackuh shouldnt you be putting this on a a7x page?, well i know he appeared on drums in a suburban legends song, but what one?

  • @TheGooshak Jimmy Sullivan got started as the drummer for the Suburban Legends. He recorded the drum track for the Legends' first album, Origin Edition, which consisted mostly of songs nobody's ever heard of and included early recordings of Alternative is Dead and Don Juan which later appeared on their first EP.

  • @duhcrackuh jimmy the rev sullivan

  • @duhcrackuh jimmy the rev sullivan<---- thats so much better

  • @duhcrackuh Whats Jimmy sullivan got to do with Suburban Legends? :)

  • @ReelBigPotHead He used to be a member before he joined Avenged Sevenfold.

  • @ReelBigPotHead Jimmy use to be the drummer before he left and went to A7X

  • @duhcrackuh you sound like an idiot. he left the band 4 years before this CD. GTFO. RIP Dallas Cook

  • im skaning so hard right now. i just excreted skank juice.

  • @tubester92 Laughing my ass off

  • @tubester92 now that`s just suggestive

  • @tubester92 Skank juice sounds kinda gross...

  • @batcommandar It's in store "Skank Juice" 99 cents

  • @tubester92 I seriously lol'd when I read this :D

  • @tubester92 Excrete is such a fucking magnificent word.

  • i think this achieved perfection

  • This rocks, but they're new stuff is gay as balls.

  • God, everything on this album is awesome.

  • Hell yeah it is. Great album, great band...love them Live. When they played Under The Sea last year here in Baltimore...oh man...so bad ass. I hope they come back to the east coast sometime.

  • anyone notice the CD case laying on the boombox is the album cover?

  • i like the newer slower one better

  • Their music is horrible now. They practically alienated their old fans for the pop culture scene. What the hell happened to the good old days when they were just a wacky band that played at disneyland?

  • well times change and music changes with it. i do agree that the sort of growth out of ska is sort of depressing. but they havent lost their luster one bit. no matter what i enjoy the suburban legends.

  • after seeing them live again.. its just they're not the same band. I guess im just not into the whole disco/pop scene. I missed them wearing shirts and jeans instead of trying to look fashionable.

  • yea, i guess i see what you mean. but hey, we live in a world where we are now dominated by more trend followers rather than trend setters. Sadly Suburban Legends has fallen too far under the "followers" category. But still gotta give em credit for teh music.

  • I miss this voice too. Definitely a lot richer and a lot less forced. No funny pseudo rock star pronunciation like in the slow version.

  • i love the slow version for its piano. but thats really it

  • If it makes you feel better, they're recording a completely, exclusive ska CD right now.

  • Probably because Dallas Kruse wont be producing it like he was the past 2 or 3 CDs.

  • I think it's funny that you refer to their playing at Disneyland as their "good old days." Very telling of either how long you've listened to them, or how little you expect from ska.

  • wow.. i didnt know we were playing "tough sh*t" today... im still saying that THIS band's glory days was in disneyland cuz of tim maurer. But, if you want to say they're still kick ass with their new pop/disco ska then it says loads more about your taste in music than your "knowledge" of ska... if you want to still continue telling people off from your pedestal that is.

  • You wrongly assume that because I called you out on your (now increasingly) limited knowledge on ska that I enjoy this shit as well. I was implying that your "good old days" at Disneyland watching this silly band dance around was just as bad as this is. Also, simply applying my judgment of you back to me is not only uncreative but obviously incorrect. As for the pedestal: glad you saw it. Stop staring at it, it's dishonorable.

  • did you really just critique my comeback??? again, i have to wonder... really??? Not sure if its sad or lame at this point. And ill stare as much as i want. i like pestals. theyre shiny. their silly dancing is what made suburban legends them. heck, i still remember when they played high school shows. They were wacky and silly. Most of them did band camp for crying out loud. Its when they "sold out" is when they started sucking.

  • I offered very clear reasons as to why I critiqued your comeback, and the the only "sad or lame" thing about this is your inability to accept criticism, or at least your ability to read it thoroughly.

  • Why does it matter if their new stuff isn't strictly ska? You don't listen to music because of what genre it is. you listen because you enjoy.

Nobody cares if it's not ska, it's good either way.

  • from the live videos they have an awsome stage presence, even if i dont like their new stuff anywhere near as much as this

  • tbh, Suburban Legend's first album was kick-ass. But then they majorly sold out and it depresses me to see such a great ska band go down the drain.

  • I totally agree with you. I first heard desperate and some other stuff off thier first EP and Rumpshaker, and I decided to check out some of thier other stuff....then I listened to 'infectious' and wondered what the fuck happened

  • from what I've seen people say about Infectious, I'm curious.

  • yep, I listening to Infectious. And may I say that was the most pathetic excuse for a ska song i've ever heard?

  • Ya, it seems like once Tim (the singer on rumpshaker) left they totally changed their style...which kinda sucks.

  • Personally, I think Vince should've just stayed a trumpet player so they wouldn't have been forced to cut their horn section in half. But, it just seems like the rest of the band is under Vince's control to be a shitty pop/disco band.

  • I've seen them live twice, once with Tim and once with Vince singing. When they had Tim, they were a MUCH better band.

  • Agreed. But Rump Shaker sort of lost a bit of it's ska essence to it. The EP was the best of the entire work of Suburban Legends. Honestly, I think Chris and Tim tied in being the best singers. Vince is a good trumpet player, I'll give him that. But he just completely ruined one of the most amazing ska bands that I've ever seen! It just makes me sick when good ska bands die like Save Ferris and Goldfinger.

  • I couldn't agree with you more. I hate how all the ska bands become mainstream pop bands because ska isn't "cool".

  • Yeah I agree.. to be honest I think they started going downhill after Dallas died.. I met these guys and Dallas was definitely the nicest which was cool cause I also play trombone in a ska band

  • R.I.P Dallas.

    He wont ever be forgotten

  • well the suburban legends are still awesome live, but yeah i don't like their crappy disco-pop on their new albums. But just keep in mind that they're not selling out, in fact quite the opposite. they're playing what they want whether or not their fans like it.

  • In May '09 they said they're working on a "full-blown ska" album. Here's hoping!

  • Just saw them tonight, I totally agree with 'h8charvs', they owned the whole fucking show. Brilliant.

  • gerrin

  • saw these live last night. briliant. they were better than reel big fish!
