  • I didnt notice it the first time.

  • lol the audience seems toi have never seen an octopus in action before!

    wooooohaaaaa oooooooohhhhh(clapclapclap)

yes there are also other interesting things ouththere than realityshows

  • nice try - but great graphics

  • That's just amazing. Octopi are the coolest species alive.

    8 legs, optical camouflage.

    badass

  • Thats is IMO the best TED lecture. I have only one complaint about it. its too fucking short. i want to see more!

  • The octopus copies it. I don't know if it really thinks about 'copying', I think its more similar to when a human feels their hair stand up on the back of their neck .. only the octopus has colors instead of hairs, and they 'stand up' in the form of whatever they see around them.

  • @JesusGirlz09, copying!! not becomming transparent

  • @JesusGirlz09 It's called evolution fuckwit I suppose you think god buried the dinosaur bones too just to fuck with our heads What a strange god you simpletons imagine It does not work like that Educate yourself and stop dragging our species baxckwards

  • Coming from a guy who can't even spell or use punctuation. And you say I'm dragging our civilization backwards >_>

  • Gods special little child Keep praying and feeling good doing nothing It there is a god I'm sure it would hate us all

  • i agree god is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO SO SO amazing for creating this survival technique, gods other notable works include aids, cancer, maleria, nickleback, haiti earthquake , the tsunami(my personal fav) children born with disabilities( serves them right for sinning!) well you get the picture

  • @hoboguru No, I think satan created nickelback actually.

  • @JesusGirlz09 Yeah god rules! I love that he created all those awesome viruses and bacteria! His master plan of death is really coming into fruition!

  • @TheGnarfield What's wrong with bacteria and viruses? If not for the bacteria in your stomach, you wouldn't be able to digest most of what you eat. You wouldn't be able to produce energy to fuel your body either. And without viruses, how would we transfer genes to hosts for medical use?

  • @Kaneunable @Kaneunable Not to mention that all life on this planet started out as a single celled organism, billions of years ago.

  • @JesusGirlz09, God did not create this splendid adaptation. A little thing called evolution by natural selection is responsible.

  • @majodis Then who created the octopus? Hmm?

  • @JesusGirlz09 gods not real btw. Just thought you should know.

  • @PeneMuchacho Shut up

  • @JesusGirlz09

You would probably be fascinated to learn that all forms of life on this planet did not come from a divine creator but rather by the process of evolution by natural selection.

  • @ztisdale He even himself said that "everything created" flows in a absolute perfect rhythm. I am not promoting religion, I am asking for people to start judging Religion based on facts, and don't judge Religion based on theory, and yeah I know many here are gonna argue about Evolution not being a theory, but like to remind you all that:

"Theory changes direction or as they say takes U turns (which happened a lot to the Theory of Evolution during the Century's after its discovery)"

    Peace

  • o szok :D

  • OMG! Octocamo! Snakeeeee. Snake does the same thing in Metal Gear Solid 4!

  • @rstar111 hahah I'm playing that right now.

Kojima was actually inspired by these creatures for the Octocamo

  • nice lol. MGS4 ftw!!

  • WAT

  • SNAKEEEEEE

  • LOLSH!

  • i watched this on the actual show thing with a guy describing the animals and stuff and he did that showing how it chanegs colour! so cool

  • great, thanks Bozz3

  • Very cool.

  • THAT IS JUST SO COOL!

    Thx for sharing HuckleberryFlan!

    Peace

  • I love watching nature. thanks for sharing this Bozz3 & HuckleberryFlan

  • Thanks B0zz3 (& Karen9084). I hope you got a chance to see the longer original video by Roger Hanlon. (The link to it is in the notes.)

  • Octocamo

  • ->And they wouldn't need the internet(?); they could just show text (& video) on their foreheads, just by thinking it. :)

    >HF

(I guess they would encrypt for private messages. :)

  • they are they most friendly creatures of the sea. blue whales are second so why would does he think it would be bad. anyway if they had a school like us than they could beat us in intelligence. to bad scientist belive that SQUID would live on land not the octipus :( so as a finall result the fact of them living on land is only in our dreams.....damn long comment lol

  • :)

    -HF

  • thats so kool God did Great!

  • Now I understand how the OctoCamo and FaceCamo works in Metal Gear Solid 4. It makes use of a process similar to what Octopus use.

  • cool :)

  • yeah, thanks for the vid!

  • Yeah if you didnt know every single design like cars planes and boats, anything you can think of relys on the ideas of animals, jet engines come from squids and octopus which can jet propel themselfs along, streamline comes from fish which have perfectly streamlined bodys, everything is like this.

  • @telis2467 No, its uses the octopus itself.

  • @telis2467 video games are educational

  • I have seen that before in foward motion... its CRAZY!

  • Thanks for telling me. When I first watched this, several versions of the same thing came up on the replay screen, LOL. I should have searched youtube before I posted!

I'll leave it up for now, 'cause so far none of the others I've found has a link to the TED presentation (Link in the 'about'). Also this one is a clearer picture than other versions I've seen so far, and it has comments from David Gallo on it.

  • For another cool video, search youtube with the words "Shark" and "Octopus".
