  • @TheLordKnox -

Good for you TLK! One of my favorite quotes today is: "Speak your truth, even if your voice is shaking!"

Thank you for posting, TLK. I'm so glad that you did want you to know how much your voice matters to me!

  • 8-10 grandpa

From that i've been living with anxiety and have to use meds.

  • @Leongto605

I am so sorry, Leong, that you must still deal with the effects of your grandpa's violations of you. None of us ever deserved what happened nor the after effects.

Leong, I am so glad that you are taking care of yourself in dealing with the anxiety. I hope that you continue to work through the pain and fears from what happened. Learning to value ourselves is so important - and one of the most difficult obstacles that I've had.

Thank you for sharing - and for your courage.

Thank you for posting! For many of us, the first victimization is only the beginning... So many do not understand that, but it happens, and to no fault of the victim.

  • @mdverot Thank you for hearing me....at least someone understands.....

  • Never, Thankfully

  • @fonkymaster

I'm thankful, too, that it never happened to you, fonky.

  • @theSadieproject

SadieProject, I'm so glad that "you love this song" - that it has been helpful. It was for me the day I composed it as it seemed to put me on a new path of understanding my journey through healing. Thank you for your heartwarming words.

  • @mdverot

I wanted to cover this song at my annual child abuse awareness event but alas, i dont have the patience to sit and learn it by ear lol.

  • Ages 6-13.

    Sister.

    I'm female aswell now 16.

  • Thanks for posting, Chubb. I hope you will seek some counseling and nit wait like I did. You are worth the time invested in seeking healing.

  • 8-15 uncle

  • @LuluTate

    Thanks for posting, Lulu

  • Im over my past with that so dont feel the need to post the details. i feel more then the crime.. the worst is when you did or do tell someone they dont believe or help they are as bad as the person that did it. its a disgrace.. as ive seen on this vid a male was called a faggot for telling. How Sad is that..

  • filthyliar11: Thank you for posting that there is hope for "getting over the past".

Recovery is complicated and so individual, in my opinion.

I so agree about "the worst is when you tell..."

Not being believed or helped was as great an assault as the one(s) I had already endured.

The "faggot" is symbolic of what so many males endure... the estimated numbers are too high... just like with females... but my guess is that they are all higher... especially males.

    Glad you posted.

  • You can't really ever "get over" something like this in your past. "getting over it" and getting through it are two different things... sadly this is something you will remember forever

  • @ChristianGirl951

I agree, CG. "Self-care" is so important. Thank you for posting your comment, it is one of the many truths of the on-going affects...

  • I understand... Thank you for speaking out. (I alos understand you "name". I've uploaded a new video just about that "name thing" in my own journey... just couldn't find one that I ever liked... you know what I mean, I'm sure.

"No one can teach me who I am"

  • 4-10 grandpa

  • I'm so sorry. Thank you for your courageous comment, nassalove09...

The journey isn't easy through this, and it may take longer than we think it should, but you are worth it and so am I.

  • Age 5-15

    Mother......too

  • Just wanted you to know... me too... thank you for posting... Your courage is beautiful!

  • Thank you for sharing. I've also been abused by my father, priests and some uncles. I am now in healing and have stoped the cutting and other self punishments. I have started a blog to help in my healing. I also testified in the Cornwall Public Inquiry, and I hope that some how I can help stop child abuse and let people know the effects it causes. I am so proud of the victims that come forward, they are so courageous! Speaking out is healthy!

  • Thank you so much. Awesome video

    -age 3-4;10-18 Brother and grandpa

  • Thank you for your comment! "faithinthedarkness" (I so understand your post name). The fact that you are here, telling your "story", takes so much courage! You give me faith.

    Thanks again!

  • very powerful

  • Great intro for a "Sad but True" subject.

  • I wish you all to have a strong faith (I'm not talking 'bout god - what you believe is your decision) - to have a strength to fight with that. People who abuse KIDS, MUST be ISOLATED FROM SOCIETY - THERE'S NOTHING TO CURE!!

  • Cool

  • i thank you very much for this video. You give me hope.

  • *cries* Thank you for telling the truth that is hidden and no one else tells (it happens to guys), how they don't believe us when we say no, or when we tell a friend or a loved one. MALES CAN and DO get sexually abused. I know, cuz it happened to me several times by both genders. I too am building a website, but it is only for the comfort of those that have already suffered, for there are many that are informational and so few that offer support and comfort. Be Well, and again thank you.

  • Thank you for this =)

  • so powerful. i respect you for making this.

  • i dont get the mother age 6 and studd that says that???

    but great vid sooo pwerful

  • its a reli powerful video well done

  • Please finish the website. It would be helpful to victims around the world who are afraid to let people know their pain.

  • Thanks so much for this! I'll never understand, how adult people can have fun or whatever, to do such horrible things to children. I think a lot about that...but still I cannot understand it.

  • so powerful and needs to be unexposed on a larger scale.

  • Re: "It is a gift"... "Thanks babsbauble"
