I done it in Cotten wool ,popped after two days

heres an easy one as well. put seeds in kitchen roll fold over untill you are left with a small sqaure obviosly with your seeds in the middle soak with minaral water put on small plate put enougher small plate over the top of that plate leave in dark place for 6 - 7 days (i still recommend checking 1ce a day you norm get exceptions deppending on how diffrently you do it) by then should be able to see the seed sprouting you know how to do the rest people

The ink from the pen is not safe for your seed. I wouldn't advise germinating with the labels. Pencils do the same but create lead around your seed. Found this out under a microscope and it DOES actually effect your process. Just a pointer, i have been growing pot for 30+ years.
