I don't think you have any idea what this camera can do. There are no video camera under 80k that can achieve the low light capability that this can. Also, it can record more than 12 minutes on a card but it will be broken into several 12 minute clips.
You need to check out this video that was done by this camera but remember it is youtube quality so do a search online and see it in HD.

dude,if you want a sport camera with more frame per sec (10fps) and xzoom for 400+ mm lens,you should choose 1dm3,if you want fullframe quality and 1:1 crop ratio with your focal leng, pick 5dm2,it's now much hotter than 1dsm3, gluck!
The video was made possible with the loaner courtesy of Canon Philippines. They allowed us to test the video capability of hte 5D as applied to wildlife and bird photography. I used a Canon 400mm f/2.8 IS lens + Kenko 2x TC. This was shot at ISO 6400 @ f/5.6

Yes, it dows have a built-in microphone, though just a mono only.
However, it can accommodate an external microophone.

canon won't make this as good as their videocams otherwise no one will buy their $3K~6K videocams anymore
the only reason why canon put video is because of NIKON competition if nikon did not do this on their SLR you wont see this feature on the canon

No. I did not bother to check the 50D when I attended the Launch. I went straight to the person holding the 5D Mark II demo unit.
