Después de regresar de Nueva York declaró que ella entendía el inglés, pero pedía que le pusieran intérprete para que le dieran un poquito más de tiempo de preparar su respuesta. En portada de una revista le pusieron:
-"Con trampas ganó Irene Sáez el Miss Universo"-
Luego que le dieron su automóvil deportivo rojo como premio (habiendo ya finalizado su reinado) apareció en -Venezuela Farándula- y decía al finalizar la nota que iba a paralizar el tráfico en Caracas -"con semejante choferesa"-
