weak, katie stelmanis and the other 2 deserve more solo credit than this trio, vocals/instrumental as well are more deservable in their solo works. Dont get me w rong , Austria isa suitable fit but it could be much better.
Good stuff. So,how come Canada keeps producing talented female singers of the lezzer persuasion, such as Katie Stelmanis, Austra's leader, who self-identifies as "Queer" (hey, no wonder she appeared on Canada's "Q" show here!).Then there's Carole Pope of Rough Trade, K.D. Lang, Tegan & Sara (twin sister dyke duo), Ferron, to name but a few. I don't know another country that's produced so many lezzer singers that have had successful records & careers. Is it the water? Long winters? The air? What?
Great rythym section. Their timing stayed virtually perfect through out the performance, and hundreds of quick bass picks without a miss. I've been a musician for 14/15 years, and that was flat out fucking amazing. It's not a really hard tempo to keep, but it was still flawless, and that's impressive. Love Katie, too. Great performance.

An excellent example of the way pop music has dumbed itself down to new depths in recent years. I don't make a habit of criticizing "new" music, but really...the absence of melody, groove and compelling lyrics in this "tune" is astounding.
No shortage of earnestness in the performance, though. It's music for people who don't like music, I guess---Indie Amateur Hour.
Wow, a stripped down and acoustic (largely) version minus the electronica. Agree that the bass carries it here - and nicely for a live radio spot. Wish that they would stop labeling them as a trio when clearly there are six and seem have been at all performances this year!
Like? more like LOVE IT! is this on vh1 classic? i like that metal show. i like heavy metal clean version. my mom wont ride top thrill dragster at cedar point saturday! Laugh out Loud. GREAT CHANNEL. you guys are great with technology. bye
@WonderDuds You simply must be joking. I've never touched a bass guitar and I'm absolutely one-hundred-percent certain I could play what he's playing after fifteen minutes' practice.
@polymath7 I'm not talking about technical difficulty, I'm talking about the sound, ya know, the important part. I *am* a bass player, and yeah, this is very easy to play, but, it sits nicely/prominently in the mix, the pick attack adds note definition, it's played nice and steadily (as a basic bassline should be), and the tone is nice and warm, filling out the relatively sparse instrumentation.
Without the pick, the sharp attack would have been lost, changing the character of the song.
The bass WAS sweet. Cool tune... or maybe more of an adventure really than a tune. But either way it doesn't take away from the drummer's amazing glasses.
bought the album weeks ago, only knew of "lose it", and bought it for that song only....now, i cant stop listening to it. her voice!!!!!!

@bluestoneism You're spot on about everything but the mindlessness of pop music being recent, or having recently sunk to new depths.
Is this really any worse than any number of pop songs from the eighties?

@bluestoneism even the beatles kept it simple, so shut the fuckup you elistist dickweed.

The bass really did stand out here; another point of evidence for playing with a pick being a worthwhile bass skill ;)
Incredible song overall, loved it. It really pulled me in.
