The hymns of Great and Holy Friday always strike me to my core. It is indescribable. We like to look at the faith and the biblical events as nice things done for us forever ago, and sometimes we forget the very reality of them. Holy Friday always reminds me how very real it all is, and how these things really happened to not even just a person, but God in the flesh. Incomprehensible.
Thank-you Callxtinus! Absolutely Beautiful and love the choice of icons. Vatopaidi does have some incredible Holy week hymns. What Holy Week Cd is this from? Holy Thursday or Friday? Thanks for posting this, tomorrow is Holy Thursday; one of my favorite services of Holy Week. God Bless and Kali Anastasi!

μια μικρή διόρθωση στο ποιητικό κείμενο: "ον ξενίζομαι βλέπων του θανάτου το ξένον" [όχι "τον ξένον"]

@vagos2006 : Holy and Great Friday, it's the apostichon of the Matins of Holy and Great Saturday, chanted close to the end of the service.
