Do you know you live in constant fear of talking any thing that is not "Politically" correct? or you will be disappeared without a trace?
Do you know the feeling of any small little thing you do are being watched, and slide mistakes will get you end up in Court to pay fine? (Thats why Singapore is a "Fine" country.
Do you know that as soon as someone in political arena speeak for you, they are being charge with defamation? and normally they will be bankcrupted by the huge claims from our Government's political leaders.
Do you know that those oppositions in our government now do not dare to speak too much against the government wish, and so do not represent our voices? Do you know we as Singaporean do not have a voice. But USA have an honest and strong voice Ron Paul. I wish that he will be successful.
There are so many reasons! Where to start? He wants to put us back on "honest money," the gold standard. With our debt situation, all the gold would be exhausted in less than a year and the economy would collapse because we would have no "honest" money left.
He also wants to end all government support of schools, which I think would result in a growing illerate underclass, despite what the "enlightened capitalists" say.
He also wants to end the Social Security program, which would leave millions of old people, probably myself one day, begging for gruel and freezing to death on the streets.
He's also against any government funded medical care, preferring to let people who can't afford treatment to just suffer and die while the wealthy get cured.
It's not the case right now. Old people get Social Security. Poor people get to go to school. People who can't buy insurance get Medicaid. Old People get medicare. Of course the rich still have it way better than the rest of us, but we do get a few crumbs.
If you get government out of health care and education I think we would see a big improvement. How come we have tripled the size of the department of education and not seen any results? People are getting social security now...but what about in 20 or 30 years when there is no money left?
You might see a big improvement in health care for rich people. Social Security is an easy fix, just make rich people pay the tax on all of their income and don't pay them benefits.

The bailouts will hurt the value of the dollar but they will avert a depression in favor of inflation. I think that's a good trade. The real sin was making the money too cheap before. The income tax sucks, but it's the only tax that does not provide a disincentive to economic activity. Everything else you tax will cause people to spend less, but nobody chooses to make less money in response to income taxes.

Credit should tighten up in good times and relax in bad. This should produce steady and low inflation. A road of recover is painful, like a doctor will suggest any operation depending on the conditions, and yes it is painful and will caused many inconveniences, but you can be sure that it is on the way of recovering, not worst.
Not really, your government will police on YOU too. But I guess its ok for you to have your phone tapped, search your properties as and when they like to without warrant, and arrest you and jail you without any trial, and can officially torture you. The bailouts will hurt the value of the dollar but they will avert a depression in favor of inflation. I think that's a good trade. The real sin was making the money too cheap before. The income tax sucks, but it's the only tax that does not provide a disincentive to economic activity. Everything else you tax will cause people to spend less, but nobody chooses to make less money in response to income taxes.
