I had the opportunity to see this guys at Brick by Brick in San Diego. The show was fun in a mellow kind of way. This album was "there for me" during a time of growing clarity in my life. Funny how music can aid changes in ones life eh? Thrill Jockey label has some other cool bands on there. The Sea and Cake is super suave, I think Sam Prekop has some kool solo stuff as well....for those who wanted to venture more into this vein of music...(

i make music since 1994 and i don´t know TORTOISE to few years after, my friends and i do experiment with diferents atmospheres and nuances to compose new forms to express intermediate feelings (beetwen happines and sad.. etc) and 16 years ago... people call it "Post Rock" for me es "Post Consciousness" TORTOISE the best in that area.... peace!!!
