@zuriel machida silva may play out like machida rashad was supposed to, both counter strikers but i agree sonnen would beat most of those guys besides couture. he is a strong wrestler that likes to press opponents against the cage and dirty box.. he would beat rashad unless he gets caught like liddell did and gets KOd .. nobody respects sonnen and i think he is in the top 5 wrestlers any class i think the only one far above is lesnar.

@ryaglad i think sonnen would stomp machida, sure, never been impressed with machida. all he does is the silva thing where he dances around, refuses to engage, and plays punch out hoping his opponents fight dumb. which they did, until shogun. so yea, i think sonnen could strike with him, as well as take him down and keep him there. as to the rest of the division? dunno. he has the wrestling to dump anyone on their back and punch at them is what i think, couture and rashaad might give him fits.

a fighter who has had who knows how many professional and amateur fights and hundreds of wrestling matches is not going to get lazy in his first ufc title fight.. he got caught, he admitted he got caught and it gave silva time to sink in the triangle.. yes he should have recognized wrist control but if you are right and he got lazy he didnt deserve to win then. i cant stand silva i really hope belfort KO's him round one, more power than sonnen and quicker hands.

@ryaglad sure, but like sonnen said in the interview, its easy to lose track of time round after round, and get excited and careless thinking you have the win in the bag, and we all know chael sonnen doesnt have great submission skills, offensively or defensively. he got lazy, and silva did win, but i would have loved to see chael get it, he worked for it and put on a hell of a show

@zurielKrig. how can you say someone who has been training his whole life with a bjj black belt gets a lucky submission... he caught sonnen with a punch from his back which caused him to stop his g&p long enough for him to sink the submission.. there is no such thing as a lucky triangle choke.. he trains everyday for that. i disagree that sonnen was his first real opponent how can you say rich franklin, forrest, and hendo are not good opponents?

@ryaglad naw, sonnen got careless and though it was in the bag, and didnt think about the fact that he was letting silva control his wrist low for a triangle set up. yes, i would say franklin isnt worth a piss, he's lackluster, forrest is a dumb fighter who just takes damage and hopes to outlast opponents, hendo... meh. pride crossover, couldnt hang in the ufc in my opinion. silva may get a ko next fight, but sonnen sure held his own, and more standing with silva

@blues2444 chael is fighting in the way that utilizes his strength, wrestling. if its boring, dont watch. its MMA, not kickboxing. sonnen almost KO'd silva standing, and if he had more common sense to punch and try for a half guard gnp or sidemount, silva would be toast. silva doesnt impress me. all chael is trying to do with his gnp is wear out and break the will on an opponent. i think he needs to go for better position and better punches personally, but i like chael. he brings a fight
