  • @DeepSouthWrestling1 Ah, the asshole part.

  • I love Crumb's work, but he's such an asshole to his fans... sign their fucking books, you egomaniacal jackass!!!

  • This awesome!!

  • Interesting footage there, TileNut. Wish I could've been there. And why is Robert there looking somwhat reluctant, a bit awkward and not always the gracious and appreciative celebrity with the odd fan? It's all because of his older brother. "Charles said I had to do it (draw, that is)," Robert would say.

  • that girl that works at hi de ho comics now,she is sooo rude ,she acted like if i was gonna shoplift and told me not to do something like if i was a child.her name is mary i can tell she is one of those bug eyed people that are control freaks dont go there if she is there she just brings my day down i wish she wouldnt work there,i bet she thinks she is too good for the job anyway .she should quit and go to a higher paying job.Mary if you see this message .... please leave hi de ho comics.

  • that bitch at hi de ho comics she sucks alexa is cool though

  • Robert had no choice. It was either become a cartoonist, or explode into a million pieces.

  • Absolutely fucking not, except when he's having sex.

  • Hahah good/true answer!

  • Would like to talk with Mr. Crumb.

  • He looks like Barney Fife. He is the best at what he does. Cool video. Hes all signed out

  • awesome guy

  • i've read interviews where Crumb has described this as a pretty dark time in his life, and that he nearly killed himself at one point. But then, he is sort of a cave wimp, or a flakey foont, after all.

  • SHIT! Circa '86 in Santa Monica Hi De Ho. Fuck I go there to get my comic books. DAMMMN! Thanks for the video.

  • Robert reminds me of sci-fi author Spider Robinson who I met in Vancouver at a blues bar.Another really nice guy, unassuming, hip and very very bright.

  • Robert Williams in front of the painting of the blue car?

  • great guy, dammit

  • I *thought* that was Spain! Nice to see Moscoso, too. This is a very cool video.

  • I think he also really hated being having a camera constantly in his face when 'Crumb'

    the movie was being filmed.

  • And the taller guy as you pan left is Victor Moscoso, Zap and poster artist.

  • I know, I was thinking the same thing - he's so touchy that if you shoved the camera any closer, he'd probably say something or freak out. That's actually pretty good for the year, though.

  • It's odd how informal the whole thing is. It's like they're in someones living room. And these guys charged the comic world with a kind of energy that, to me, makes them more important than any rock star for simply the amount of time, energy and creativity they put out.

  • I love 'at guy

  • Oh Robert, not much sympathy for the general public. Too loveable, though...
