The Church of course is a community center for humans. It is a place of study because it is a place where large groups of people can gather to share ideas. This does not mean religion is true nor the encouraging factor for inventing, exploring and free thinking. A secular community center is as affective for creating an environment for sharing ideas. the mosque wan not just a place of sharing ideas, it was literally a place of education. during the prophets live, mosque was a place where muslims would learn reading and writing (most of ppl at that time were illiterate) and seek all kind of knowledge and science. the world oldest unviersties in opration are university of al-karaouine(859) and al-azhar(975) and they both were established as mouques but with the increasing of students they were extanded into universities.
