They could fly at night, but they can't dogfight in the dark.

The Germans flew from bases in France and the Low Countries, not Germany. That was out of range for those early British planes.

Sir Arthur "Bomber" Harris had the right idea, bomb Germany ityself, the moral boost alone was enough, and Goering had promised the German people they would never be bombed.

@frisco1529 Yes, it is a crucial part of WWII. Even a megalomaniacal madman like Josef Stalin officially proclaimed thanks to the Greeks for their sacrifice, saying that if it were not for those few weeks bought with Greek blood, Barbarossa may have succeeded. He rather circumvented mentioning the other Balkan countries for political reasons, but it remains a critical crux of the war.

There is little bit misleading in this part. Churchill and King's family was many times critizized when they visited areas bombered by germans. And british antiaircraft artillery squads very often escaped when Luftwaffe came. (This was written by british historicians)
