yes hello klarinetta, your from iceland right? their first song glendabankin was one of my favourittes-i had the icelandic tape of their song for europe that year,it was originally by a solo performer then 2 more singers were added.wilfried seemed a little nervous, but sometimes certain people perform exceptionally well when nervous-have u checked out 2011,tell me yr favourite
I couldn't believe it when I saw it back then and I still can't believe it today. Neither he nor she can sing but his complete inability is simply overwhelming. Never again have I seen anyone on TV singing that badly. Why didn't they withdraw the song after the first rehearsal? Why did anyone in Austria send this man with this song in the first place? It's a mystery.
They say that this mans really good!
NIL POINTS! but song ok!

Not that bad, this and finalnd shouldn't have placed last. Unless Corsaircid wants to blame the jews for that too.
TheDt1973 1 year ago
@TheDt1973 Its not a case of me blaming the Jews.
Its just that Austria had a President who was a German Soldier whose Unit committed war crimes. This was shown by the media a lot at the time.
Germany's song entry was also good in the contest but also got poor marking.I might blame the Jews for that too! Only Joking!!!
Like it or not the Euro vision always has always being suspect in political bias by some countries towards others.
Something to think about,
Cheers!

Hi zippedizappedi,
It was due to the fact that the Austrian President Kurt Waldheim was to blame for the result of Austria getting No Points.
No matter what song Austria put out, good or bad,Waldheim was embroiled in controversy being against the Jews from 1986-1988.
In early 1988 the international committee concluded he was in fact NOT a war criminal.
This is the probably the first time that politics decisively influenced a Eurovision result for a country.
Cheers!

@Corsaircid you might have a good point there but Austria have won it in the 1960,s
