And the cold shoulder is when you get ignored. the word comes from when someone ignores you and you only see the side of their body (their shoulder). and the cold comes from when its numb, like when the person doesn't feel anything for you so they just ignore you and feel numb to your existance kind of thing... i think... hope this helps
